You fixed up her car, and let your own truck(?) turn into a pile of "s#i+"? Why? If the truck is in her name, then you may just have to go along with it, but it's not really fair at all. Not if you have been making payments on it. Do you want the truck? Maybe you could try reasoning with her (begging, groveling?). If you have purchased things to enhance her car OR you have proof that you have made payments on the truck you could remind her of those purchases and ask her to please be fair with you or agree to pay her a portion of her down payment back...nothing says I need help like a little cash, she probably does not really want the truck, she just does not want you to have it.
This is truly not fair, but if she has any feelings for you at all, perhaps you can garner her sympathy by saying, I thought when I helped fix up your car you would count that as part of repayment for helping me get the truck. Tell her you are hurt because you feel that she does not want you to have any vehicle. If you purchased things for her car, and you can get receipts or copies of receipts that prove that you purchased these items and proof that you have been making payments on the truck...then you could take it to court and let a judge decide for you?
This is difficult, I do not really know how angry she is or how determined she is to hurt you and if you can still manipulate her in any way. Do not threaten her, but see what kind of proof you can come up with that you have monies invested out of YOUR own pocket. Often auto parts places keep copies of receipts, you may be able to get copies of their copies? Sorry, this is wrong, but sometimes a mad woman can be a real "b" word!
Good luck. I know it sucks to humble yourself when there are hard feelings...unless you have proof of your own financial investment here, you may have to beg, ask, plead...if you have proof take her to court!

Let her keep the truck, and consider the $250 per month as rental fees for the use of the truck. After all you did have the use of the truck.
Also why didn't you take care of the truck? The truck is now a pile of shi t because you didn't take care of it.
Let this be learning experience:
Pay for own property,
Get title the property that you paid for,
Take care of your property,
Work for your money, don't depend on your girl friend for money,
And if you really want a commitment , get married.

No, it seems to me that she IS being fair and I support her resolution. She made the downpayment BUT you are the one who used the truck and turned it into this pile of **** that it is today so you pay for it.
If the truck is such a pile of **** then why the hell do you want to keep it?
If you really want the truck, offer to pay her the downpayment (or something less if she agrees) and then keep the truck. I am sure that she is only concerned about the money.

So she put twice as much money into it as you did, and you think you deserve it? You may have put "a lot of work and money" into it, but she put in twice as much buddy.
If it belonged to both of you, then you should get a proportional amount of what you put into it, a third of whatever the selling price is. But since it's in her name, and she paid for most of it, I think she can do whatever she wants with it.
If it was really a gift, it would have been easy to transfer the truck into your name at any point during the past 2 years. She didn't do it, and you didn't push her to do it, so it's not your truck. It's her truck that you helped her buy, and in return she let you use it.

She shouldn't get what she put into it, the truck has depreciated since then. If she put 3000.00 down and you paid the rest and if she insists on selling it which is unfortunately for you, her right, you should split 1/3 to 2/3 what money is made. If you owned a house together and it appreciated in value, she wouldn't want just what she put into it, she'd want 1/2 of the current net profit right? Legally, she doesn't have to give you anything and a civil suit would cost more than it's worth. Sounds like she just wants to be a hag.

Sounds pretty childish on her part. But since the car is a pile of shi t, then just let her have it. Who cares, if she's going to be like that, then let her live with herself. Work on yourself, and try to get yourself a nice car on your own without anyone's help, then drive around in it with pride. This way, you will never have this problem again.

Chicks will have sex with until they decide to screw you. She may be a ***** for selling the truck, but you left yourself no legal recourse. It is her car, according to the paperwork, and she can do with it what she wants. She could let you keep it, but that would be the nice thing to do, and she obviously doesn't want to be nice to you anymore. Good luck finding another truck. Next time pay for it yourself, or get something in writing from your new financier.
