Today I saw one answer that claimed 'if you do what is in your heart you're listening to God' (which must come as some relief for those who act out their hatred/bigotry against gays or pro-choice advocates) while another claimed that biblical verse is so complex that it simply does not mean what it appears to mean without an understanding of Hebrew, Greek and an assortment of esoteric knowledge known to less than 1% of humanity.

Given that Christianity appeals to those who can't think, won't think, or who profit from it (financially or egotistically), that the human capacity for self-deception is endlessly inventive, that despite Matt 7:7-11 the world is in the worst shape it's ever been (and no, I didn't overlook the irony), that despite II Kings 2: 23-24 people still feel this deity is worthy of worship, that they are fervently/politically working towards Armageddon (aka WW III), I have this question for you:

How do we save Humanity (and our children) from this insanity?

Keep searching. When I have kids, I'm not raising them to be a member of any specific religion. I'll help them learn about what religions they want to learn about, but I'll also teach them to question, and to never be complacent with the answers they get. It's all I can do, really.

Unfortunately, the christianistas reproduce like rabbits, so my first thought won't work. More atheists getting pregnant couldn't hurt, but it won't help enough. Besides, the christianistas are the ones who like to keep their women pregnant (and barefoot). We should take advantage of our desire to hold jobs and positions of power.

I am optimistic about the future, actually. Things will get better and better, and religion will keep dying out. In a couple hundred years, people will look back and laugh at our current age in much the same way we look back and laugh on the Dark Ages.

It can't happen soon enough, in my opinion.

In the meantime, we need to continue to support scientific research, since learning about the world slowly undermines religion. Also, multiculturalism is a plus. When people see that there are plenty of perfectly good people who just happened to be born in nonchristian societies, then they start to doubt their assumptions about Christianity being the defaut for everyone.

I am an Atheist. I became an atheist after a period of time that I had an opportunity to do some reading about slavery, war, civil rights history, the attempted genocide of
Native Americans and others, the Holocaust etc. I listened to my heart and my heart told me that there is no god. If there is a higher power it is not worthy of worship for one reason or another.

Education is the answer. For instance it is one thing to know that slavery exists but to know the horribleness of it is another.

In the words of Gora "The moment faith in god is banished, man's gaze turns from god to man and be becomes socially conscious."

People need to STOP TELLING THEIR KIDS THAT OTHER RELIGIONS ARE WRONG!!!! I am of the Wiccan religion, but I was raised Christian. I know a few people who were told as children that Wiccans worship the devil, which is completely wrong because Wiccans don`t even believe in the devil, and you can`t worship something you don`t believe. I know Christian believes are very peaceful and right. The main reason I switched religions (obviously besides believing other things) is because the Christian religion was born in Jesus`s love and most Christians have turned it to hatred against other religions. If you ask me, its a disgrace, to ALL religions, that our orignal beliefs have been consumed by hatred.

Lead by example and show the Fundamentalists that you can live happily and live well without believing a bunch of stories and man made fables and threats of Hell.Peaceful and loving people usually don't need religion.Religion, on the other hand, desperately needs peaceful and loving people.Mostly because there are so FEW of them currently in religious practice.

Abolish religion. Or at least ban it in all forms of public appeal.

It is true that MANY of the worlds past wars are the direct result of religion.

With religion alive and kicking in all its forms, people will never get along. They fail at teaching tolerance and love which are suppose to be the basis of their faith. They choose to judge which is 100% against it.

The bible says "Hate the sin, Love the sinner," when in fact they hate the sin and deplore the sinner as seen in their eyes. This does not breed peace. It exudes hate and hate spreads

I strongly disagree with your central premise.

I know many Christians who are thoughtful, intelligent and a true joy to be around. They contribute to society in a positive way and I'd be overjoyed if one of my children chose them as a role model.

Like any system of belief Christianity has it's challenges but throwing the baby out with the bath is no solution. By the by, I'm a Pagan (Isian Witch) so it's not like I'm "ONE OF THEM".

Keep trying. Use the Bible against Christians, and the Koran against Islams. Judism isnt really a threat, they dont actively convert and are generally open-minded good people. Christianity is the most influential, dangerous, occultic terrorist group in the world right now and needs to be exterminated, but their members are brainwashed to defend it, and like all people who are brainwashed, they dont realize that they are brainwashed.

Worldliness, envy, and delight existed between specific early Christians. James calls some “adulteresses” because of the fact they have been buddies of the international and for this reason accountable of religious adultery. rather, we don't desire to grow to be worldly in approach, speech, and strikes, for that would make us God’s enemies. His observe shows us that “a bent to envy” is a ingredient of the undesirable inclination, or “spirit,” in sinful human beings. So if we understand that we could desire to combat envy, delight, or another undesirable inclination, enable us to seek for God’s help by using holy spirit. That tension, offered by using God’s undeserved kindness, is larger than “a bent to envy.” And while Jehovah opposes the proud, he will supply us undeserved kindness if we combat sinful dispositions.

We don't. It's a pretty simple answer; a race that works towards its own extinction will inevitably go extinct. There's no problem with this; once the race is extinct, it's extinct. Why is that a problem? Perhaps a more appropriate question is for each of us to ask how we can survive others attempt to make us all extinct...
