Of course we should thank Him everyday. But I think he deserves a special thanks, just for giving us the idea of a day of rest. It would never have occured to my boss, that resting periodically is good for us all.

I think people do thank God for everyday, I do. "Thank God it is Friday" is probably more a saying than a real prayer. It means the week is over a most people get a couple days off.

Because Friday is the beginning of the weekend. 'Thank God the weekend is here.' That's what it means. But your right we should thank God for everyday.

Personally i think TFIF is said more than TGIF. But the Ancient Vikings believed Friday was the best day to get marrid, because the Godess of Love + Fertility was believed to be most active on this day.
Plus it was the day Jesus was crucified (Good Friday).

This coment comes from self-centered persons pretending to thank God for a soon-to-end work week and hapily looking forward for the week-end where he will enjoy all the good things this world can offer. Every moment of our life ought to be thanked for to God- even in missery, for everything that happen in our life is God's well and it is designed for our good.

I remember a coment from our parish priest, and he says:"everything that happen in our life, God is sednding us a message. The problem is that we often don't get this messages."

That's a matter of religion. I don't believe in God, I'm a science person since there's actually real evidence to back the facts up.

Anyway, we say what you say because it's the end of work for 2 days for most of us.
