God is very much capable of evil just as its creation at ANY given time because we are a representation of god. I am inclined to think that any environment that god has created for any type of beings to reside will have a child like innocence at first introduction until you get use to your environment and realize it is not as blissful as you thought. Beings will raise hell until infinity as long as there is free will. All beings on this earth and evil beings apparently use alleged free will to cause devastation or peacefully not follow god for that matter. Reality shows that in order to call something all good you have to have bad to reference to or you will never learn the concept and if evil is gone forever how in the heck will you know what you are doing is good without bad to reference to? I think good and evil are on the same curb except opposite ends because they balance each other as long as both exist.

If god has free will then god is "capable" of evil.

God cannot do evil. Evil is the absence of God.
For example: Darkness is the absence of light. You can't measure darkness, only light. Flash a beam of light into a dark room and the dark room is no longer dark. Same with heat. Cold is the absence of heat. You can't measure how cold something is, you measure how much heat is lacking. Absolute Zero (-243 C...I believe) occurs when there is absolutely no heat.
Evil is the absence of God.

God is infinitely good. You are correct that in order to call something good you have to have a bad for reference. This is why God put the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden. If Adam and Eve did not have a choice to be good or not, then they would not have truly had free will.
The pain and problems of this current world is a direct result of Adam and Eve's sin. God did not initially create the earth this way and it was only due to Adam and Eve's sin, that God cursed the earth into what it is now. Every sin must have a punishment and that first one was a doozy.

Have you considered that he might be a sheep, in wolve's clothing? And harsh when needed? And by the way, evil and good are not different ends of anything. The only way the even relate, is in the concept of Judgement. And I assure you, that no living human has command of that concept. Many people confuse the terms contradictory, and complimentary. Good and Evil do not compliment each other. They are anti-thetical.
The entire point of the Eden story, is to show us that Judgement is deadly. If it were not, we wouldn't have religion.

If god is not capable of evil, why in the world do televangalists and church pastors tell people that they have talked to god and that god said Hurricane Katrina and the tsunami in the Indiana Ocean the wrath of god?
I see this as extremely evil. How can one preach "Thou shall not kill," and then turn around and blatenly murder thousands of humans? Humans who were living their life peacefully?
Religion is opium for the masses. If someone cannot explain something (or even if they can) with science, it is seen as wrong.
But god being almighty and alLOVING, found it in his heart to murderer thousands of helpless people on an island in the middle of the ocean who were bothering no one. And if you tell me it is because they disobeyed him, I see that then as even more sadistic. Does this or does this not sound like a five year old not getting his way so he throws a fit in a store? How people can believe this nonsense escapes me.
The fact it, god is a perpetuated human belief invented to explain things that the mind cannot, or does not understand. God exists only if someone believes in him.

God is not capable of evil. Evil results from the *lack* of Gods presence - just like dark is the absense of light and cold is the absence of heat.

You can not put humans on the same level as God. God killed many people but only because they disobeyed, therefor if he were a human he would have sinned. But since got can create our like he also has the choice to take. God did not create sin and therefore can not commit it.

Infinitely good????
Are you kidding me???
Have you SEEN what's going on in the world these days?
Forget infinitely good, god is a sadistic bastard. He can stop the global bloodshed in a heartbeat but he won't because he LIKES it.
