I have lead a number of people to Christ, but the one person that touched me the most was Ruth. Ruth was an elderly black woman, probably about 75, and I lead her to Jesus right there at her kitchen table. A lot of people say a lot of things, but Ruth was serious. Every Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night, there she would be at church, without fail.

That was a while ago, and I suppose she's gone to be with the Lord by now. I really am looking forward to seeing her again. It taught me not to pre-judge people's spiritual hunger based on matters as unimportant as age.

Thanks for causing me to remember that nice lady!

I personally tryingn to convert a few of my friends at the moment, but one is a hardcore agnostic and it will probably take some work, but i have seen other people convert people into christians. And everyone who truly is a Christian, like myself, was converted at one point. No one is born a Christian and going to church doesn't make someone a Christian. When a person actively believes in their heart and confesses with their mouth their belief in Christ then they are a Christian.

The folks above are stating that we cannot convert anyone. Well, actually, the scriptures say that we can in James 5:20
"...let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins."
But really, we are given the privilege from the Holy Spirit in partnering in this wonderful event. Can a mother take the credit for the creation of a child? No, it is God who created the healthy, beautiful baby, and the mother gets the joy of being a part of the miracle. It's all good--right?

Have I had such a joyeous event? Actually several, for one, my own wife. She saw in me that the Lord was real. Her life was going nowhere fast, and she wanted Christ. So it was just a matter of time and she accepted at a Christian concert 17 years ago. She has never looked back.

It is God's work, but the most exciting thing in the world to be part of it.
My ex-wife and I were married for 20 years with 4 kids. She began having affairs and after a difficult time she left.
She married her boyfriend, and her new father-in-law was dying about a year after that. I called one day and he answered and we talked about spiritual things and he wanted Jesus in his life. We prayed and he accepted Christ.
He lived for 2 more months but he was changed, and knew the Lord and I know, along with many others who loved him, that he is now in heaven.
How wonderful do you think that is for me? It is the most precious thought. I love God and all he does, and he helped heal the hurts of my divorce also with that because he had a plan I could not see and I am so happy and grateful. You see, those are the things that God does.
There are stories always, every day, others as well.
God Bless You Always.

Has an athiest ever converted a believer in God to athieism?
I don't think an athiest wants to convert anyone but only to be affimed in his belief that their is no God.

I don't know that I have converted anyone or not. I did lead my sister to Christ. She called me in the middle of the night and asked me what it was that I had. She said she wanted it. She received it. It was a wonderful experience for both of us.

I have witnessed to three that had made a decision for Christ. One was my step mother and the other two are teenagers that I have come into contact with. But I can't say that I have converted anyone. Just showed them a choice and they decided.

Absolutely not. I can convert no one. Only God can change a heart. I did see, however, God change my elderly father's heart, so that, at age 91, before he died, he said yes to Jesus Christ.

That was after ten years of my praying for Him. Still, God gets all the glory, it was not me...it was our merciful God...and I will praise and thank Him for all eternity!

God allows us to participate in His salvation of others by our sharing the gospel, by talking to a brother or sister who may be "overtaken in a fault", etc. However, I would never desire to take any "credit" for anything.

I have never converted a non-believer, because God is the only one who can do that.

I like to think I have helped a few people to open their hearts.. but it is not our job to convert. Jehovah does that. We only spread the word
