cheated on (sorta) and trying to move on with the same guy?

I was recently cheated on this past year but I wouldn't know to call it cheating on or not. He met this girl last august of 2005 til december ONLINE, when they got serious and started liking each other. She is from illinois, we are in california. He thought our relationship was going downhill, cuz I had feelings for another girl. They never met in person or did anything physical. I got iffy about this girl calling him everyday and asked him who it was and he lied to me saying she was an old classmate. He said they were "in love" tho I don't think he really loved her anyway. After a while he told the girl the truth that he had a gf but she still wanted to talk to him, and still "loved" him. But I notice this girl always meets guys ONLINE and "falls in love" with them. We were friends, and now we're not, cut off all contact. I'm mad cuz they had phone sex and were talking behind my back. my bf and I are now trying to make things work, since MARCH, is that cheating? It's hard just betrayd

I consider it cheating, but if you love him and want to be with him its worth trying, If it doesn't work out, oh well, move on with your life.
