Hey. Believe it or not, my step sister's starting out on 7th grade soon too. Truthfully speaking, 7th grade is not different from 6th grade...everyone's a bit taller, that's all. However, in 7th grade, children start developing on all the stuff that they learnt whilst in 6th grade. The amount of homework doesn't really change that much but the application style for their knowledge changes considerably. Additionally, 7th grade is usually an easy-step for children but its hyped up way too much by adults..'Oooh, 7th grade...wow, you're a big girl now'...not really, not much has changed about the child...same old, same old.
In a nut shell, while 7th grade helps a child's mental developement and strategical thinking, but is no different from 6th grade.
Cheers.
Good luck explaining that to your cousin.
