I only know about the second half of your journey - from I81 in Virginia, to I77 through VA & NC, to I85 through NC, SC, and to Atlanta, there are no tolls. I'm from VA but went to school at UGA, so I've made the drive too many times to mention! Hopefully someone can fill you in on the area north of the Mason-Dixon line....but p.s., with gas prices as they are, it might be a lot cheaper to fly!

The area is safe enough unless you are a drug dealer. But there is nothing there. Nothing. It is just a suburb of Atlanta that is not the best area. If you are flying in to the city, you will pretty much be in college park since it is by the airport. Have your friends meet you at the airport and then take you where you are staying. When in town, make sure you go see the aquarium, MLK sites, Stone Mountain, World of Coke, a summer movie at the Fox Theater, Braves game, and some of the other cool things to do in Atlanta. Have a nice trip!

There aren't any tolls..mapquest it to get the directions. Depends on where you live in NY. If your from upstate there won't be any..if your from NYC you may just have to pay the toll to go through the Lincoln tunnel to get through to New Jersey..but like I said just Mapquest it.
