Toxic shock syndrome is the result of a bacterial infection. It is really important to follow the directions on the package and to change tampons frequently. Use them only when you need them and use other products for light days.

Tampons are very safe even if there's a risk of getting Tss. Read the flyer that comes in the box and u will understand everything. I've been wearing tampons since the age of 16. Im 24 now and No TSS. If you feel more confortable wearing a pad, then theres nothing wrong with that.

Use the lightest kind for your flow. Always remove them every 4 hours, regardless of what the box says, and ONLY use maxi pads for overnight. There will still be a VERY small risk for TSS even with the above precautions, if you ever get a fever or feel really sick while you're using or have used tampons, go to the ER and tell them.

yeah tampons are safe as long as you use them as directed
the TSS is very rare it happens to like 1-17 of every 100,000 women that use it and thats only if you use one for more than 8 hours without changing it

Tampons are safe as long as you use them correctly. TSS is caused when you leave a tampon in for way too long and use an absorbency that is too high for your menstrual flow. Change it often and make sure you keep yourself clean and you should be fine to use them .

They are safe is you use them as directed. TSS itself is very rare and is NOT only caused by tampons. If you leave in your tampon longer than the instructions say, you'll increase your risk. You'll also increase your risk if you use those like Super ones.

yes it can cause tss, but it is very rare, make syre u dont leave one in for longer then 6 to 8 hours, i always change them about every 3 hours although i hardly use them, i find it safer to stick with sanitary towels, i dont like the thought of having something stuck up my bits all day, especially covered in blood, i think it is better for the blood to come out, really dont like the thought of it

They are safe if you follow the instructions correctly.

I myself like to alternate between tampons and maxis... It helps to avoid Toxic Shock Syndrome.

Just remember... Good Hygiene!
