It's gluttony.
A few reasons:
1) They do not care.
2) We are all human and almost every person is guilty of committing one of the seven deadly sins at one point or another.
3) Marketing has become more of a religion (as sad as it is).
ETA: Actually, both gluttony and sloth go nicely together with what you're talking about.

Fat doesn't necessarily equal sloth. Fat can mean prosperity. There are lots of hard-working fat Americans. It's massive over-eating, not sloth.

Do you actually go to a church or can you look at a person and tell if they are a Christian or not? Oh that's right all people that are fat are Christians. All fat Americans are not Christians and neither are all Christians fat. What right do you have to judge and decide whether a person is fat or not. I think you are one mixed up person.

ha.
Basically they are sinners. But, then again according to Christianity everyone is a sinner. So....in the end as long as they repent it doesn't matter. If murderers can do it I'm sure fat Americans can to.
People, seriously. Massive over eating = gluttony. There is no way one can be fat if they aren't at least a little gluttonous. So fat is still a sin.

what is your issue with obesity? sloth is one of the 7 deadly sins, but according to Christian texts, God will not hate as long as you admit your a sinner and allow God into your heart and life.

Ha, Ha , Ha that's a good one. God may hate sloth but does he hate people that eat at Mickey D's?

Like I heard on the radio today:
Why is everything negative put on God's column.
It could be the work of Satan you know.
People said, God was punishing us with Katrina, or with the tsunami!!!
How do you know it wasn't Satan, God wouldn't kill so many people, but Satan doesn't care.
The guy's probably sitting on his own fat a-SS saying, "I'll kill this guy, and this guy, ooh, this guy's broke and is suffering, he'll live."
Also, it's not exactly fair that you claim that all Americans are Christian or they are also all fat as well. Look at my Tio, he's sitting on his fat behind right now, and, I'm, uh, CATHOLIC AND HISPANIC!!!

I'm fat because I like to eat. I'm American and proud to be so. I'm a believer but I'm not affiliated with any church or religion. I don't think God hates me because I feel his blessings everyday. So bearing all of this in mind, what label would you place on me? I ask because it seems that you like to generalize.

Everyone has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Saul persecuted Christians, but then realized the glory of God and wrote almost half of the new testiment... so judge not lest ye be judged.

Another flame. Nice.
You poll every fat American you encounter and determine whether they're Christian or not.
If you find an overwhelming propensity for same then I'll accept your question.
