LAZBOY

On July 1st I took my wife (who has a disability walking and walks with a "WALKER" Shopping for a comfortable chair. I have owned two Lazboy chairs in the last four years and convinced her to try one. We found one in Taupe that fit her height and weight perfectly.Even though it was more expensive than I originally wanted to spend I decided to purchase it!!
When the salesman (Mr. Curtis Marquardt began writing up the order he said their would be a $54.95 DELIVERY CHARGE. I then asked him if it would be to big to be put in the truck of my car. He said yes!!!
He also said if it were damaged in my truck I would be responsible! So I agreed to the delivery.
Today, the chair was delivered and two men carried it in two parts and set it up within 15 seconds.
In as much as the chair was in two parts it could have easily fit into my car and trunk and I didn't have to pay for DELIVERY!!!
OF COURSE MR. MARQUARDT NEGLECTED TO TELL ME THAT!!
As a long time buyer of LAZBOY recliners I would appreciate if you can RIGHT A WRONG that I experienced with this VENDOR!!
Thank You for any help you can provide!! AL SILVERBERG
ADDITIONAL INFO ON THIS PURCHASE IS AS FOLLOW: SALES TICKET #4-89328 LOC 829 AMOUNT $699.95 DEL CHG $54.95 SUB-TOTAL $754.90 TAX $58.50 AMT PAID $813.40
The reply to this message was that cannot do anything for me!!! And, Mr. Terry Bradford who called me pretended to not understand why I even sent my e-mail to their main office!! When I bought my Lazboy chairs previusly I lived in New York and delivery was free with the purchase.I had no knowledge of how they were delivered as I was working at the time an not home!!
It is my belief that this company practces "UNFAIR SALES PRACTICES" TO EXTRACT THE MOST DOLLARS FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS

What store did you purchase the chair from? La-Z-Boy typically sells through retailers such as Schewels, though they do have their own galaries in some areas. If you purchased it from a furniture store, then your beef is with the store and you should contact the manager to complain that his salesman was not entirely truthful with you and request a refund for the delivery charges. If you purchased it directly from La-Z-Boy, then you need to contact that company and file your complaint if the local galary does not remedy the situation. You can also file a complaint with the BBB against the company that sold you the chair.

Here is contact information for La-Z-Boy:

http://www.lazboy.com/contactus/

Start by contacting the store management where you purchased the chair and then the company if necessary.

Here is the web site for the BBB should you need to take it to that step:

I'm sorry to hear about your awful experience.
There is a website that you can post your complaint in detail at. It is called Rip-off Report - a service of BAD business bureau. The website is for consumers,by consumers who report on bad businesses, fraud, scams and things of that nature. You can also search businesses to see if they've gotten any complaints. I highly recommend it. The website is www.ripoffreport.com. Good luck! :-)

Call YOUR LOCAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE and report this!

Also, call or email your E-Z Boy company and let them know what happened at Such-and-such store in "this" town at this street with this phone number. They give out the "rights to sell their products" and don't like "bad publicity" so i'm sure they'd be very interested to hear, wouldn't you?

Go to BBB.com and file a report against them. It takes abaout twenty minutes to fill it out. They will send you a letter and let you know if things are in your favor or not. If that doesn't work hit up consumer affairs.
