I'm inviting some family to the united states for vacation but i'm affraid they'll stay pass their tourist visa... Will it affect me if they stay as a ilegal alien??

Your invitation letters have no power, even if you have them notarized. They are simply information that the interviewing consular officer can take into consideration when they interview your relatives for visas.

On the other hand, although there is no regulation about those who invite nonimmgrants to be telling the truth, why risk trouble? Don't invite your relatives if you think they might overstay.

Plutarch says guests and fish stink after 3 days. (One suspects Plutarch was old and cranky.)

As to the other, theoretically it might, under common law interpretation, particularly if you live in Arizona. I think that isn't how the law commonly is interpreted, however.

Still, they are getting stricter, putting people in jail for a felony if they've been previously deported etc. It is risky for them even if you are left out of it.
