Ask a few questions of yourself, do you recall losing consciousness? Was anyone nearby to see you fall? If there is a person around get them to ask you some Person, Place and Time questions, have a look at your pupils in the mirror or have someone shine a light in your eye and check for pupil constriction in response to light and be sure that your pupils are both equal and round. Check for "accommodation" by having someone watch you look at a distant object then focus quickly on an object in front of your face. Have them check to see if your eyes move together and constrict the same as if light was shining on them.
If you fail any test or if you're uncertain, call your doctor immediately.

If you remember the incident and what you were doing prior to hitting your head...in other words you did not lose consciousness, then you are most likely going to be fine. When a person has sustained a head injury enough to cause temporary amnesia, they are most likely suffering from a concusion, and require medical intervention. Depending on the area you sustained the injury, it sounds as if the bruising and swelling are on the outer portion of the scull and although it discolors and hurts, it is safer than on the inside of the scull where you can sustain internal trauma. Ice is definitely indicated, and if you have someone else in the home with you who can monitor your well being, you can take a mild pain reliever such as Tyelenol. Avoid aspirin until you have been seen by a physician. Aspirin prevents our blood from clotting further.

Hitting and disciplining are 2 distinctive issues. And if performed sparingly and as a sort of self-discipline, infants do no longer affiliate spanking as hitting. i became into spanked as quickly as in an incredible on an identical time as, as a toddler, not at all did I affiliate my fathers self-discipline with hitting others or being a bully. And at 5'10 and arranged to bench 250lbs in extreme college, i'm going to have wiped the floor with almost all people I felt like. you will have some very undesirable examples which you're drawing out of your guy or woman youngsters, yet for oldsters who're to blame and choose the terrific for their infants can use this very effective style of self-discipline with out crossing the line and inflicting anger subject concerns with their infants. *** Hitting in the face isn't self-discipline and that i in my opinion think of which you will have been abused and subsequently can not affiliate the version***

This has happened to me before. Usually, it's just fine. But if you've been throwing up go see a doctor ASAP, because that could very well mean you have a concussion. I have also heard of Nurse Lines, where you can get a number, (I think they're in the phonebook) and call and talk to a nurse on the phone. They can answer all of your questions and give you advise on what to do.
Good luck, and I hope you get better.

Ice will work. Make sure someone is with you. If you had a con cushion you would fill dizzy, sick to your stomach. The reason for it being swollen and blue is that you busted some blood vessels.

You'll be just fine. If you have a headache you could have a mild concussion but that's very unlikely if you didn't break the skin. Mild concussions require no treatment. Ice and an aspirin would be OK.

You should be fine...going to sleep isn't going to harm anything. You might want to take some tylenol for the pain though. If you begin to feel nauseated or dizzy call the doctor.

head bumbs usually look worse than they are. you have alot of vessels in your head and since you have a blue bumb you probably broke a few thus the blueness. but stillhave someone check it out if it satys like that or you feel dizzy, light headed or sick.
