Because...part of the process is already done. Some girl has already figured out that you are worth dating, so that is one less step that the girl hitting you has to do. Women always want the best for themselves and if someone else can help narrow down the field and weed out some of the losers, her chances of having someone great are better.

If we women know a woman wanted u enough to date u not just have sex with u then we know you just might be good enough for us. When a man is unattached or tells u he has problems with relationships, it puts up red flags because we wonder why an attractive man is unattached.
