A good being always eliminates evil as far as it can.

An omnipotent being can eliminate evil completely.
A good omnipotent thing will eliminate evil completely.
The existence of a good omnipotent being is inconsistent with the existence of evil.

Therefore, the existence of God is inconsistent with the existence of evil.
Premises #1 and #2 express commonly cited attributes of God as worshipped in traditional monotheistic religions, so they seem pretty secure. If they are challenged, it would only be in order to construct a radically different concept of God wwhich would have to be addressed separately.

aaah yes....the ever so confusing and sometimes life-altering question, with the indefinite and never satisfying answer...

well, the way i see it, is that ever since man walked the earth, he searched for a god! maybe to satisfy his weaker, more dependant side. yes! people who believe in god, can so simply just throw the load of failure, or the fear of the unknown, or even the hope for miracles or the happenings of unrealistic things, on God!
it's the side of us that needs to feel reasured that there's a greater power over us, that controls everything. maybe because of our own feeling of lack of control.

and things haven't really change since the beliefs of Greek and Roman gods, to the beliefs in Jesus the Lord or Allah....
even some of the acts and things we do today in our religions, and the stories told...are almost the same as ancient religions, myths and legends.

look at christian priests for instance...just like they were in ancient Egyptian or Greek times, they're still looked at people who are closer to god, who can get you into heaven.
exorcism, for example, isn't that like "witchcraft" ? like in african or indian witches who expelled evil spirits from the body?!
or "holy water".... like people who went to witches in ancient times for "charms"....

history repeats itself, only in different forms. just simply because, humans are humans...

I often wonder this myself......especially after major natural disasters where thousands of people die. It never ceases to amaze me that a pastor or church fella gets on TV and says that it is gods wrath. Ok, so I ask you this then. Does that make god a murderer? I mean if he creates it and knows people are going to die (since he is all knowing of course), how is that just or loving? Why would any "loving" god destroy what he creates out of anger? Is it not true that the bible states to hold your temper? How am I suppose to follow that example?

I have come to the conclusion that if there is a god, he either does not care and actually hates you, or, he really cannot control anything at all, making him not omnipotent.

And don't forget that the bible tells you not to kill, and then turns around and says, "Thou shall not suffer a witch to live." Once again a statement that reverses on itself.

There are many questions that religion cannot answer. The entity of god always was, and always will be something within the self. Something that we draw our own conclusions on and interperet differently. It is a created entity enabling humans to cope with life when they think they are all alone.

A basic understanding in this universe is that at opposite ends of the poles there exists a positive and a negative. When equated into faith or religion if one is to believe in a positive and supportive element of life one would have to believe in a negative sustaining element as well. This idea then, asserts, that science and faith are combined and complimentry of each other. In addition logic and religious belief are well represented. Omnipotent is a serious gig and I don't think that it's conception is within our grasp on the present evolutionary chart. Humans seem to posses an archaic behavior and sociological pattern of war that clouds their perception of a great number of concepts. I believe you should use many different factors in determining an idea of this magnitude.

It's all in the Spirit God gave you. Most people in life make the same mistakes the devil made.In that you was created in the image of god, but and this is where most people make mistakes emotions. You are not greater then god!...Lets take the conflict in the middle East. These people was created like the rest of the humans on this planet ,from the Chemicals and cells of god himself (H.u. upper case- 8)..When god made Adam and then made Eve from adam thus eve was adam and adam was eve..Same stucture no green blood in one with a big black eye balls from a new chemical string theory genetics from far away galaxy. Some people look different on this planet only on the outside..Gods way of for example taking a small tree and trimming and munipulating outer cell structure into a Bonzi tree..It's a Ying and Yang thing I guess. The choice is yours in life on how you want to grow! He will make the final call in the end when he decides to call it (over) and no one here can tell you your going to heaven or Hell no matter how much money you give them...It's his call

Your premise(s) are faulty. Namely, that evil is something that needs to be 'gotten' rid of...as if it is a distinct 'thing'...! It's all a matter of perspective: if everyone was 'good' (god with an extra O), then there would be nothing to compare the quality of good against...it would not even exist as a concept! We live in a dualistic world; God 'exists' outside of dimensions...no duality...no good and evil....no reason to eliminate it!

Evil has not YET been eliminated; are you dictating that it should be? We are given free will; otherwise a relationship with a creator would be a meaningless command performance. If you are really inquiring, read "Evidence That Demands a Verdict" by Josh McDowell. If you're just posturing, well .. you decide.

How bout evil people? I refuse to believe that any God would do the things that people do to other people on this earth. But men are the base of the evil, its said that God gave man free will. Free will to commit evil or good.

your premise assumes that eliminating evil completely is good, but it is stagnating and will remove purpose for living, what about the infinite revolutions of polar opposite energies, from the thermodynamic rules of energy, which is life, if you get rid of one, there is no purpose for the other, without evil good is nothing and nondefinable for that matter,if evil did not exist, neither can good
your logic is based on a false premise and therefore faulty

If a man had many sons, and by all account he was a good man.
And some of his sons hated him and said let us kill him and take his wealth.
But other sons stood with the man and prevented his death and drove the hateful sons away.
Would not the man in some way still love the hateful sons?

Are we both angle and man sons of God? It will be painful for God to destroy (end the existence) of even one of his sons.

Ahh but you are forgetting Gods quality of perfect justice. He must prove his omnipotence. Striking down evil only proves hes bigger and stronger. Heis proving that he is also just. His four greatest qualities are love, wisdom, power and justice
