I dreamt I was a spy and then someone I knew got kidnapped, so I went and saved them. The odd thing was that I didn't know/recognise the kidnapper. What does dreaming about strangers who do significant things in your dreams mean?

May be a part of your subconscious that you're unfamiliar with.

You could have a fear to be kidnapped but would hope that you or sombody close could be brave enough to save you. Or maybe you feel like you have an obligation to help innocent people and you don't really care about the "kidnapper" in this case as long as you do the right thing

Let me analyze the dream for you.

Spy = secret agent
kidnapped = take away
save people = heroic mean.

If you dream, you want to be strong, and smart which reflects your personality in reality. There are things you cannot control or be respected in reality. So, you project a spy as a hero to save people. The someone you save from are actually your weak conscience. You basically want to save yourself from low self-esteem. So, in your dream, it reflects your weakness wholly.

In conclusion, you subconsciously want to do things that you cannot do in reality. Being a spy may be a dark secret of your weakness

Dreaming about strangers just means that your nightmare needed a character in it and your mind randomly picked this stranger to full fill your nightmare.

My opinion(and you "follow" it if you want) as that you should not believe n dreams as they only depend on our mood,experiences and passions and of course they do not "predict" anything about the future!
