Severely cut back on all heat and chemicals (relaxers, perms, color). Avoid blowdrying whenever possible. If you must swim, thoroughly wash your hair out each time with a mild shampoo and conditioner and then let it air dry and put it up. Wear your hair up as much as possible; this will keep your ends from drying and breaking. Use scrunchies instead of barrettes or things that will break or snag your hair. Avoid individual braids or other tight styles that will pull your hair out. Most importantly, CONDITION AND MOISTURIZE!!!!!

It is very hard to do but what you need is a hairstylist that knows what to do with your hair. I have a beautician that knows how to grow hair yuo just really need to shop for one of them. Make sure you wash and condition your hair and scalp. Try pantene pro v for colored women, I do!

Put a deep conditioning, protecting hair masque under your swim cap, that way you'll avoid damage.

You lost me. Color does not matter. Wash your hair everytime you get out the pool and condition it.
