Apparently 'God' didn't think Jesus's goodness was enough to make anyone love him.
Your question frames the sad irony of Christianity perfectly.

I think not!
I think once you accept Jesus as your Savior hell is not your problem, it is God's problem.
You accept Jesus because he has unwavering love for us, he died a horrific death to save us from sin and all the problems we have living as humans in this world.
My question would be why would you even be terrified of Him? Is it the prospect of hell? That is your choice if you want it, however it is so easy to make the other (only) choice.

No, God gave His Son to die because He loves us. God is fearful but He is also full of mercy. To accept Jesus as your Savior, you need to realize that you are unfit for Heaven. You need to realize that Jesus loves you and wants to save you. If you dwell on Hell enough it will scare anybody. Not wanting to go to Hell is definitely a good reason to get saved but ultimately if you are saved you are grateful to the Lord and want to serve Him. I believe God wants us to serve Him because we love Him.

Do you want an honest answer? Whatever brings people to Jesus Christ, and keeps them there.....is better than them not coming at all.
I never use hell to threaten anyone. I share God's love and Christ's sacrifice for them....that He loves them. But there is a hell, and the consequence of rejecting Jesus is ending up there. That is pretty scary to me. I do not believe because I'm afraid of hell. I believe because of what He has done for me in my life.

The morbid FEAR of hell was not invented until the middle ages to GET people into the church. So if that is why people go to church then the deception has worked.
In my eyes, why should people be terrified of the person who loves everyone? Which is why I choose not to believe.
I feel like it is a fear tactic. Nothing more.
But if you truely find yourself in church then go. To each his own.

Yes it is the wrong reason. The best reason would be love of god and search for eternal happiness, so they are kind of intertwined.
You can't trust someone you fear anyway, so that wouldn't work.
God wants people to accept Christ so that they can repent of their sins through his atonement, and thus be happy, free from the chains of sin.

No.
He wants people to love him, to want to serve him.
He wants a perfect person.
Those that are not perfect he will destroy.
Christ will only cleanse the imperfect of them that seek him and try themselves to be perfect before the lord.
Heaven is a perfect place, for MAN to enter he must be perfect or be destroyed.

Yes, of course it is the wrong reason, but don't you think that once someone is open to the LORD, the LORD will work in him/her for the good?
