not everyone who says they are christians are truly so
remember that christianity is not just a religion
it is a relationship with God
so it is an individual with God
there are a lot of hypocrites
but we shouldn't be discouraged because of that
Also, humans sin no matter what
even a christian does
there is no perfect person in this world

I think there are a lot of hypocrites among the human population, and many of them are Christians. What I find the most hypocritical is not someone who says it's wrong to do this, and then goes ahead and does it. That's human nature. As the saying goes, do as I say, not as I do. But I find it terribly hypocritical for "Christians" to judge other people for not being "Christian" enough. I'm not at all referring to your question. I'm referring to people who gossip about other people, and often do it in church or some church group. How is that "Christian"? I've met "Christians" who snub me because I don't go to their church, etc. I have no time for people like that.

The same reason as there are hypocrites outside of the Christian faith.
Sin is sin. It corrupts people. Non are sinless.
If they fall under the Christian label is irregardless. People have a tendency to be hypocrites anyway.
Pray for them.

There are hypocrites in everything.
Religon or Christianity in general is no expection.
I am very much a believer, but find many who call themselves a believer not following what they say to others. You have to be weary of who you believe and trust.
Then again... aren't there hypocrites in other areas? The boss who says these are the rules of the business, yet smokes in the office and takes home office supplies, etc.
I used to say to my kids... Our rule is: It doesn't matter what other people do...YOU do what's right!
That's the best you can do in ANY situation. (Free will screws up many who have good intentions)

The answer, friend, is right there in the Bible (Romans 7:21):
"So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me."
Even when we earnestly try not to sin, but yet we constantly fail. Combine this with the fact that everyone is prideful, you have the seeds for hypocrisy -- of which I am certainly very guilty.
But we keep trying.
Thank God -- literally -- that the efficacy of God's grace does not depend on Christians themselves.

Most people have a false view of what it is to be Christian...Christian is not a synonym for perfect...God knows we can't be. So of course, people always want to talk about Christians being Hypocrites...what about all the other groups of people doing their own dirty? I view my belief in Jesus as trying to live right, treat others right, and work on my imperfections. What more can be expected?

people like fast results and dont have enough patience to wait for what christianity promises them. They like to follow their instincts, which christianity on the contrary tells not to. So in a way they dont hear the complete message from God. you have to understand that people arent perfect and it follows that they cannot follow through on things without making mistakes. Even god couldnt create perfection, all thats left to us is to try.
Free will makes us alive and different, yet only by listening to god we can make the right decisions. People that you call hypocrites are like everyone else, they are normal human beings.

I agree. I am a christian and i know many people who are christians and ive noticed that what many of them preach to others, they dont even follow, themselves...for example we are supposed to show love and compassion to everyone yet there are so many discriminative christians out there ....i would go on but i dont want to make anyone mad...and no i am not saying that all christians are like that for those of you that ger way too offended too easily..

Without comment on the accuracy of your statement or question, Christianity starts off with the basic assumption that all humans are evil and wicked.
On that basis, Christians are taught that even though they are evil, they are saved by grace and will go to heaven. Not because of their own behavior, but because Jesus paid their admission.
There is no incentive for Christians to obey any known laws or code of ethics. They admit they are evil, but they allow themselves to pretend they are not by hiding behind Jesus.
That is one reason so many people claim to be Christian, it justifies their immorality and requires no penalty for wrongdoing.

There is hypocrisy in every facet of life. I think in Christianity it's worse since some of the most judgmental ones are huge hypocrites.
