i know they want the people in front of them to go faster, but why do people tailgate if theres another lane open? theyre just wasting their time. whats the whole "revenge" part about it, i dont get it. theyre just asking for an accident- if the person in front of them stops, the tailgater will rear end the person in front and have to pay for damages if theres an accident

I no what you mean.The 1st answer i think didn't.I think they are trying to intimidate you so you will go faster.I personaly will make sure that i do not exceed the speed when someone is doing that to me.As long as you maintain the correct speed limit they are in the wrong.And if a cop happeneds to see them on your tailgate like that well,"sucks to be them".And if they hit you it really sucks to be them"

This is a good question. I think people who tailgate are selfish, inconsiderate, and intimidating-wanna-be's. They're also an accident waiting to happen. Sometimes, I think it's intentional and they're hoping for an accident so they can bring a lawsuit against you and live on easy street. When you notice that you have a tailgater, then, it's better to move into the other lane, and let them have the lane they're in b/c obviously they want that lane for reasons known only to them and it's not worth having an accident just to keep the lane. Who cares if they have the lane?
