we had my dog cremated, and eventually spread some of the ashes underneath where his dog house was. he was as good a dog as anyone could want. he was very loyal, smart, and protective. he had a really scary bark, but as soon as i told him to be quiet and you'd let him sniff your hand, he'd follow you around sit next to you so you'd pet him. lol. just make sure you remember all the good times you had with the dog, and eventually the pain of losing him will lessen, and the good feelings overpower any remaining hurt. just follow what you think is right. i dont think i could have coped with still seeing my dog hanging around, and he was a big dog, so burying him would have been tough, and i dont know if i would be cool with handling his body. not that it wouldnt be worth the work, its just beyond my comfort level.

My family always cremated there dogs then buried them at the cottage. I cremated my dog and the Vet gave me a nice earn that I put on my mantel. I will be getting a framed picture soon to put with it. She was 17 and I felt she deserved it. Sorry for your loss, it's hard.

Definitely, do NOT cremate him. I think keeping your dog buried is a very good idea. So that you could always remember your dog.

if you keep you beloved pet after it passes you HAVE to either bury it several feet under the earth or cremate him. There are ups and downs for both.. first bury him, he is near you and you cna visit his grave. But at the same time if for what ever reason you have to move what will you do. Personally I left my fur-daughter in her grave to rest but wish we cremated her. We haev also cremated our Fur-son and there it has to do with the cost of cremating and time to get him back, finding an urn, but you get to take your beloved fur-baby with you when you move. We still have Beefy-J on the shelf with a special memorial to him and BabyGirl who was buried.

Listen to your heart and your gut instinct. Its a very personal choice with no general right or wrong decision. Burial can sometimes help with the grieving process, though other people find that a burial can stop closure. Whatever your choice, your dog will always remain as a feeling of love in your heart.

You could cremate him if you want him in a jar in your house. You could bury him in a pet cemetary and visit him sometimes or bury him in your backyard and see him everyday. You could also get him stufffed and sit him somewhere he loved in your house. If you cremate him you'd have his ashes there everyday but if you stuff him you could have his entire body there everyday..... I would bury him in an animal cemetary though.

Keep him? What religion do you consider you dog? Whats cheaper? Think about that and come up with somthing. Burial seems like the better option in my opinion.

you should have him cremated and put into a special metal container custom made that looks like your dog with his name and put his ashes in it. then place it somewhere in your house. i am so sorry for your loss.
