I have a terrible memory myself. I often forget my own birthday. I say forgive and put away your self-righteousness. You too someday will need forgiveness.

You know, some guys can't keep those dates in their brains.
Mine is like that and he is the most wonderful loving person
but if I want something for my birthday more than dinner out,
I have to really push for it, like write it on a note and put it on the computer screen or the calendar- "Monster T-shirt for my birthday 11-1, monsters.com size M".
Or I buy it myself. Which is sometimes a pain but I've accepted
it. He can't remember his OWN birthday half the time. I love this man, and if that's his only flaw I'm happy to buy my own gifts or just be happy to celebrate with a fancy dinner.
So... why so upset over a day late? Is it a sign of other problems
or do you just have a busymind brilliant forgetful loving one like I do?

I don't know how old you are but there's only one true way for a woman to make her man suffer. You cut off that little bit of recreation and he'll never forget you birthday again. Hell even if your not dating anymore and its fifteen years down the road I guarantee he will still remember your birthday.

Send yourself the biggest boquet of flowers (preferably red roses, or your favourite flower that your husband/partner knows is your favourite ones), from Interflora or your local florists. Have written on the card a beautiful birthday message etc, and have it put from a secret birthday admirer! And make sure that you pay for it all on HIS credit card!! He won't forget it in a hurry again will he??!!

I think we need to remember to remind our men of our birthdays. They can't remember stuff like that on their own. Now, if we remind them and they still forget, I believe there should be hell to pay! But, in reality, if they don't do something for us after they are made aware of the special day, then we should know they just don't care and take it from there.

Show him how sad it made you, don't be spiteful and evil revenge seeking lady though or he'll think your a bad person. Tell him that you were looking forward to your present from him and using the occasion to spend some romantic time with him and felt v disappointed when that didn't happed. The guilt will kill him ;)

Treat him how you want to be treated. On his birthday do everything for him and make his day as specail as you can ( as you want it to be on your birthday so he can get some idea what kind of special birthday in your idea ) and i'm sure he will feel really disappointed in himself and he will put double effort for your next birthday if of course if he really think the world of you.
Play cool & calm is much better I think.
Good luck on your next birthday.

I don't think there's any way to make him suffer to be honest. If he's a decent guy and genuinely sorry about forgetting he will suffer enough guilt as it is and you won't need to do a thing.

Put on a guilt trip. If he apologises, say it doesn't matter toss your head and walk away always have a good excuse for not having sex for a week or two, but always say everything is OK. Behave aloof but always say things are OK. It will drive him nuts he wont forget again.

Short-term effects:
-talk about how wonderfully was your birthday with some ex!
-make him feel guilty and force him to visit your grandma or another relative with you all afternoon...
-when he calls you, say youre busy celebrating your birthday with all your friends from college, work or whatever
then, the long-term effect would be to forget HIS birthday... lets see if he likes it!....
am i a mean? some mischiefs are not bad!!!
