She backed up to the kitchen cabinet and acted like she was spraying, shaking her tail and everything, like a Tomcat. Of course, she didn't actually SPRAY anything. Could it have been that the coffee that was brewing smelled like cat spray? Cuz that's all I can think of.

It was not like she was peeing. It was what males do, back up and jerkily twitch and vibrate their tails...

My cat goes crazy when there is coffee in the house. She tries to get into it and when I sit down she starts attacking my hair. I don't know but I think coffee can do strange things to cats.

Alot of time cats will urinate in front of their owner to let them know they are not feeling well. Usually it a UTI or something else to do with urinary problems. It could also be her acting out because of some change in her lifestyle that she doesn't approve of. Take her to your vet and have them run a urinalysis to rule out any health problems. And if she does have a health problem, pat yourself on the back for getting her the help she needs.

Cats do this. They think they are still able to spray. don't worry about it unless she seems to be having troulbe urinating. If this is the case then take her to the vet
