My mother-in-law is coming to visit in October and has never been to the US. What types of documents will she need to travel both to and from? She is flying on Air Canada on a direct flight from New Brunswick into Ohio and then a direct flight back out.

Picture ID and a birth certificate, or a Passport. What a great thing for you do to, hosting your moher in law in Ohio. Hope the weather is great in October, and you have a super time. As you probably know, New Brunswick is very different from Ohio, and doesn't have any cities as large as Cleveland.

once you've a Canadian passport you're ok. in case your passport is from yet another united states of america, you want a valid everlasting Residency card from the Canadian authorities. it truly is valid for 5 years and is very nearly as a lot difficulty to get as a passport. in case you do not have this card you may want to no longer be allowed decrease back into Canada once your vacation is over. once you've a overseas passport you would more effective verify with the U. S. authorities if that united states of america calls for visas or no longer. Sorry i won't be able to be more effective precise.

I know that driving into the US you need birth certificate and picture ID although I've never been asked for it when I've got into Maine camping or shopping. So I'd say flying you'd need the same info.

Just her pasport, because it's an international flight, and crossing borders requires a passport usually. If she's a Canadian citizen, she doesn't need a visa.
