I went through the Air Force boot camp last year. I went in at 5'2" 110 lbs (i'm female) and all I did before hand was smoke, drink beer and party. It was soooo easy! I did go to the gym a little before bacause I was concerned I wouldn't be strong enough. I actually had fun. The TI's (training instructors) yell, bu that's about it. It's nothing like movies of boot camp. We do have to do an obsticle course, but that was really really fun. The whole 6 1/2 weeks is a bunch of marching around and standing and waiting. One of the sayings you'll get used to is 'hurry up and wait.'You're always in a rush to go somewhere and when you get there you're waiting on 'them.' I had a lot of fun, I took it all as a joke. The Ti's yell and it's all just a game. Some girls went crazy because they had never been away from home. I lived on my own for over a year before going in so that made it easier. If you're scared about the physical aspect of it, can you run for an hour? Can you run a mile and a half with out stopping? How many push ups and sit ups can you do for 2 minutes? I could do about 90 push ups in 2 minutes when I left and I never had to do them during the regular training during the week because I went there being able to do 50+ in 2 minutes. I whooped guys' asses in that stuff. Can you do pull ups... about 10? If you can then you are well ahead of every one else. It's not all running and push ups. We go to "school" too. You learn how to march and the history of the Air Force. It's not bad at all. And you get paid while you're there! Think of it like this.. you get paid to get in shape. That was my mind set when I went in.

Air Force boot camp was easier. The DIs did a lot of yelling but if you did what you were told you'd make it.
Now, however, trainees in the AF Basic Training not only go to the rifle range to learn to shoot the M-16, the USAF is now including combat training (yes! Actual combat training!). It is a little tougher than it used to be.

Real hard, but worth it after. I can't say anything about the Air Force, but the Marine boot camp was pure hell. But again, worth it. You find an inner strength that you never knew existed. A bit Zen in some ways.
Do it.

marines boot camp is the hardest. it is meant to be hard and there is a possiblity you may NOT pass. but that's what boot camp is for to measure your strength and will to see if you are right to join the force.

It all depends on how bad you want to get through it. I was in the Army and it was tough... very tough! Looking back on it though it was the best time of my life. I learned more about myself in those few weeks, and what I was capable of, than I had in my whole life. I actually miss it now! Go for it and give it all you got!

No, Airforce and Navy Boot camps focus mainly on studies.
But it really depends on what you concider tough.
Yeah, the DI's/CC's get in your face a lot, but that's there job. Don't take it personally, never let them learn you name...and you got it made!!
