It's the part where Jesus predicts the works of St. John the Divine, and Pat Robertson, and Benny Hinn. Its so cool to think that Christ new about television and the Catholic Church isn't it?

Before anyone gets horribly offended, the point is that you can use scripture to prove any point, you just have to know the scriptures.

Sure is. What is funny is when these people make a prediction, a prophecy if you will, and it does not come true. It makes them a false prophet and people still follow them.

This is not Christian vs non Christian, it is common sense. If you follow the book, you can not follow these religious profiteers. Religious is only defining how they make their profit and "profit" is not to be confused with "prophet".

I can get where you see this applying to Pat Robertson and Benny Hinn. But come on, the Catholic Church; an institution that has produced such stellar figures as Mother Teresa, St. Francis of Assisi, and Pope John Paul II. Granted there have been times in history where the Church has acted with brazen immorality. However for the most part they try to engender the best in people. You must also remember that Jesus himself willfully allowed into circle of twelve some pretty flawed men. Just because an institution has faltered here and there does not make it "the wolf in sheep’s" clothing that Matthew 7:15 is describing.

I'm not familiar w/ St. John the Divine, I've got a joke about Pat Robertson, and Benny Hinn, I'm not even sure where to put him (b/c even though he's really off the wall-messed up, he's still bringing people to Christ). But yeah, Mormonism, Scientology, Christian Scientist, Islam, Jehovah Witness', Gnosticism, New Age, Nazism, just to name a few...oh, and who's that skinny guy with the plastic-looking face who preaches health, wealth, and prosperity in that former basketball stadium? Anyway, yeah, it's cool to see that Jesus warned us of these people well in advance, but at the same time, I think it's sad when you look at all the messed up religions out there, formed by people that Jesus warned us about in this particular verse, which have actually flourished because so many people have fallen prey to these wolves in sheep's clothing.
Really brings out the necessity for Matthew 9:36-38.

Matthew 7:15
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Pat Robertson is not a false prophet, for He teaches from the word of God, But benny hinn is and I dont even know anything or heard about St John the Devine.

The Catholic Church is misleading millions of people into believing they are the only true Church . Matthew 23:9 . They call their priests father or holy father . They also believe that it's okay to lie if it will further "their" religion . (Manual of Christian Doctrinepg.157,297) Exodus 20:16 "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor" Colossians 3:9 "Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds" Ephesians 4:15

Sermon on the Mount
Jesus is talking about people with calculated false motives, about folks with an approach to Christianity that is obviously one-sided and shallow, focused more on wowing people for the moment more than sustaining sturdy faith for the long haul. There's an awfully big difference between someone who struggles with lust and a David Koresh who uses the spectacular to lead people to their dooms!

Matthew 7:15 “Be on the watch for the false prophets that come to YOU in sheep’s covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves."

yes and Jesus also mentiond it at several other places most noteable at his description of the last days at Matthew 24:4-14

4 And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU; 5 for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6 YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet.
7 “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.
9 “Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation and will kill YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name. 10 Then, also, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and mislead many; 12 and because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off. 13 But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. 14 And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come."

And at 2Timothy 3:1-4 it describes how the people of those end times will act toward one another. It states "1 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God,"

Sounds like many of the things that are going on right now.

If you would like to know more about these end times that we are living in and the wonderful promise GOD has for us please read the article link below. You will find it very interesting. It is entitled "Look! I Am Making All Things New"

Matthew 7;15 according to my Bible it reads "Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves."

How does this relate to television and the roman Catholic church? There are many people who preach Christ but really have no knowledge of Him.
