I got my first and only tattoo a couple of weeks ago. They suggest using Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion..I heard from the tattooist to read the ingredients and don't use any lotion that contains fragrance that will cause the ink to come out. I had some real good luck with Aloe Vesta Protective Ointment 3. Just use for a couple of days and be sure that you do not scratch as this will cause the ink to come out. Also if some of the ink does come out, get in touch with the tattooist and get it filled back in..They usually don't charge for this.

Any lotion should work at this point. If your worried of infection use neosporin on it. It's probably not infected tho they itch the first few days. Just make sure whatever you are putting on it keep it moist not too moist as it will bleed but just enough to keep it soft. When I say bleed I mean tthe ink.

I have two tattoos, done by different shops, and they both recommended Bacitracin. May have spelled that wrong, but that's how its pronounced.

If you would have not gotten stupid and got a tattoo in the first place, you would not be asking this question.

DO NOT SCRATCH IT..put lotion on it or some ointment. if its itching and starting to look abnormal then it might be infected.
