For one, if you leave your child alone, that is negligence, and two, if you smoke around the baby then that is abuse.
Neither is a sign of a good parent, so why don't you give your baby up to someone who will take care of it properly.
Than I suggest getting some counseling to see why you have this subconcious wish to harm your baby and yourself.

Stop smoking. It's bad for you and your baby. If you don't give a crap about yourself, at least do it for your child. The time to have quit would have been months before conception of your child.

Stop smoking. Besides the carcinogens in cigarette smoke, you are increasing your child's chances of having chronic bronchitis, asthma, and a host of other health problems.

I also say quit smoking. You don't want to have your child losing a parent to lung cancer at a young age, do you? Better yet, you don't want to bury your child from second-hand smoke inhalation, do you?

Quit smoking. Otherwise you are deliberately hurting your child by exposing him/her to carcinogenic smoke, and that makes you a terrible mother.
Sorry, but that's the truth.
I bet you are English, aren't you?
