Buy the Lexus IS300. I know I know it wasn't a choice...but consumers have rated this car best value for the money...and also one of the safest cars out there.

If that porche breaks down...you're looking at forking over lots of mooolah! As for that BMW - same thing...repairs are pricey.

They are both GREAT cars. Assuming both cars are in good condition, you can't go wrong. The decision is mainly about driving style. If you want to do some "spirited" driving in these cars it comes down to experience. If you are not that familiar with driving a rear-engined car at speed, get the M3. It's a much more forgiving car. If you don't know what you're doing in the 911, it WILL bite back. Often with the result of the tail leading you into a wall/cliff/telephone pole. The Porsche will perform handling miracles, but unless you've driven one before for any time or are willing to spend time learning, go with the M3. This would be my personal choice, but I'm a BMW guy. The M3 is one of the all time greats in handling as well.

If you're just buying the car to pose with, however, it's your choice, but frankly I think you'd be misguided.

I'd go for the 2001 BMWm3 because it is newer, and nicer to.
