You are a threat to their religion because your belief system actually makes sense. If their believers figure that out, then no on will be putting money in the offering basket anymore.

Some people, apparently believe it was made up by one person recently. Either Gerald Gardner or some woman whose name I don;t recall. They can't even decide who they think "invented" it. That is because they don't like the idea of it being olde rthan Christianity or anything else.
I think a lot of the time it has to do with their own faith being questioned. A Wiccan would never declare war on someone just because of their faith(or any other reason). So many things have been made up relatively recently about Wicca. There are people who think Wicca is a modern invented religion. The truth is that Wicca was around long before Christianity, although possibly by another name.
Also, I don't think that Christians like to admit that a lot of their "faith" is actually based on Paganism.
Some Christians(and other religious people) believe that if you don't agree with them, you must be wrong. The fact that Wiccans are peaceful is a bad thing for other religious people who try and put theirs across as "the right one". Aslo, it is often something which they don't understand.
Some people believe you are evil just because you don;t believe the same as them. I think Wiccans have always had this problem because, although worshipping nature makes more sense than worshipping something you can't possibly know is there, some people just can't accept it. A lot of the old things about it were simply because people could heal people using medicine which is used today but nothing was known really about the properties of plants, etc at the time and the problem has continued up to now. They think you must have something to do with the devil because you don;t believe in their god. The most ridiculous thing is that, as far as I knw, at least most Wiccans don;t even believe there is a devil!

First, and foremost, almost all religions condemm and say every other religion worships the devil and they will all go to hell.
Second, historically, wiccans are tied closely to the druids and paegans. When christianity was first starting out, the spiritual leaders litterally waged an information campaign (remeber we are in the middle ages here) against them. It has become ingrained in every aspect of christianity, right down to the bible. It has just carried through the ages.
Third, and finally, it comes down to faith. Most religions mandate faith - belief beyond measurable proof - that a higher being exists without concrete proof. The majority of people in this situation will be closed minded and think that they have faith (when all they have is a closed mind)

They do not understand what Wicca is about. They do want to learn about things that they are afraid of. If they were to educate themselves they would know that Wiccans find good in all things that God himself created. If you are Wiccan then you are familiar with the Wiccan Rede. I don't know if it would go against what you believe in but maybe you should consider posting it and shed a little light on the people that ridicule Wiccans. Wicca is a very beautiful belief and would be happy to tell you that you can't believe that the energies you harness are not possible without God.

I am Wiccan also. I understand your point. There is nothing we can do, christians seem to be the most closed minded religion. It is their own fear and ignorance that keeps them from seeing the real world. One thing their religion got right.....they are like sheep, they follow no matter what without regard to the earth or others. Unlike our belief "harm none" they will actually kill millions of people just because they do not believe as they do (spanish inquisition!!!). I just try not to discuss religion with christians, I leave them alone and that is the only way they will leave my beliefs alone. Blessed be!

To be a Wiccan is to be a Witch in many hard-headed Christian eyes. It was only quite recently that the name was changed in order to avoid that confusion but, regretably it still prevails. The problem is, I think that Christianity is, for the most part, a proselytising religion - most Christians see it as their duty to bring 'non-believers' into the fold.
Jesus is reported as saying
" (John 10)
1 I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.
2 The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep.…
6 Jesus used this figure of speech, but they did not understand what he was telling them.
7 Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep…
9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture.
Most Christians feel it their duty to show people what they believe to be the correct way. I think you will find that the Society of Friends (Quakers) are one of the very few professedly Christian sects who will try to find a way that your path and theirs can be seen to be compatible.
Although I am 'outside' any organised religion, my upbringing was Christian, so I have tried to explain that point of view. Nobody is really more right than anyone else. We are all searching for the truth of the unknowable. It seems to me that those whom Satan is liable to make his own are more likely to be those who believe they have found it.

Many Christians are confused about what exactly "Wiccan" beliefs are because there are many levels and variations in what is referred to as Wicca. Often it starts off innocently enough and over time moves closer to occult beliefs. I've known people who felt that through Wiccan beliefs, they were gradually pulled into things much darker. I understand, though, your feelings about the religious people. The "Baptists" you have met should spend more time talking and listening to you. (Some Baptists would.)
Even if what you do and believe seems harmless to you, the Bible condemns the worship of nature. In Romans Paul writes, "They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--" (Romans 1:25)

Quite honestly, I respect a religion that is thankful for all of the things that nature has given it and gives back in return, than one that amasses large wealth, hides behind theme park sized marketing promotions and looks down their noses at anyone who isn't of their same faith.
Here's a good question: Why is it that an Armed Services Recruiter gets a negative connotation attached to them for trying to meet recruitment goals each month, yet preachers don't get the same for their goals of converting people to their religion?
If a religion is basically a system of ideals put in place to guide a person in their decision making process, aren't the 2 one and the same?

A true Christian will never force his beliefs on you. A true Christian will attempt to persuade you, but will also leave you alone if you asked to be left alone.
As for the rest of your question, the Bible tells us that God created everything and we are stewards of His earthly creations. IOW that which you call nature was created to serve us, not the other way around. At the same time, as stewards we have a responsibility to care for what you call nature, something we aren't doing very well.
As for wicca, my question is how this religion could be so widespread, considering your lack of proselytizing efforts, without paranormal influence.

This question has been asked before.
To understand this concept, you need to understand that Christians (in particular) believe anything not of God is of Satan (whether people recognize it, or not.)
Christians believe Satan disguises himself as 'good' sometimes; and just because Wiccans do not acknowledge the existance of Satan, doesn't mean he doesn't exist.
I can say I don't believe in Gravity, or air for that matter...but it doesn't make it any less real. It's really relative to one's understanding.
And a Christian understands: ANYTHING NOT OF God, is of SATAN.
here's the Bible verse which states that Satan disquises himself as good (sometimes)...afterall, he is a deceiver!
And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14 (NIV)
