Yes, bulimia is ridiculous. As soon as the food hits your stomach, your body already starts using up the calories from it, so even if you barf it up right away, you did not get all those calories back. So if you eat 500 calories, you cannot get all 500 calories back by barfing it up. I believe that 20 minutes after you eat something, most of the calories have been digested already.

Actually you can lose WATER weight by vomiting (and not very much) , which is unhealthy.

So your lack of fluids will show up on a scale for a moment until you chase after that diet Pepsi an hour later!

Short form they mess up their metabolism. And to state it as bulimics only is incorrect anorexia and bulimia are so close in diagnosis it's hard to define until you see a doctor.

yes,they binge eat taking in a huge amount of calories and when they throw up they get some out but not the majority of the calories...i think bulemia is about more than being thin i think its wanting to pound down a ton of food to feel better and then once they do they hate themselves for it....its a horrible condition and i hope you dont have it.

It depends on how soon they purge after they eat, and what they eat. Not only that but it slows their metabolism down so much that when they decide to eat normally they gain weight. My friend was bulimic for yrs.
