The bible just doesn't do it for me.

I have taken several religious courses regarding all the religions in the world. I would suggest you do the same and see who the christians really are. They are just romans in sheep clothing.

It's easy: First, close your mind to everything except for things told to you by child-molesting priests. Next, hit yourself in the head with a brick until you can't think straight. Then, watch Billy Graham for 24/7 until you talk backwards. Of course now it's time to kill an abortion doctor. Go to jail for murder, but preach how you were just doing the lords work and how every drop of semen could be a million children so tell all the other prisoners to save theirs for you - you'll get real popular. By the time you get out, you will be ready to follow Christ just about anywhere.

I was going to be sarcastic here, sorry.
maybe you could find a bible translation that would be more to your liking.. there are many out there. GoodNews - KJV - NKJV - New International - etc. Maybe, an amplified translation (see joycemeyer.org)
Maybe, just open up your heart when you hear or read the words of the Lord.. go into it with a heart searching for truth and knowledge.. don't be close minded, or a heart so cold, that someone might think you're dead. Dying, comes when you accept Jesus Christ.. you die to self.

Give the Bible another shot with some sort of guide or outline, and if that doesn't cut it for you, try reading some Christian fiction, like the "Left Behind" series. Or even something like "Chicken Soup for the Christian Soul" That helped me accept Christ.
Also look for God in your everyday life. He isn't hard to recognize if you seek Him.
If you are truly looking for Christ but can't find him, God might give you a wake-up call to see things more clearly (a pleasant one or otherwise).
So keep looking. You'll find Him sooner or later.

No there are No pills or brainwashing techniques you can apply in order to accept Christ as your Savior..

No there is no pill or brainwashing technique. If you dont ask Christ to come into your heart and are truly sorry for your sins (everyone sins, there are sins of omission also) Jesus said "Behold I stand at the door and knock." Meaning open up your heart to Him. Also "Blessed are those who have not seen and believe."

if you needed a pill or a brainwashing technique then your faith is little and is very shallow...
this would mean that your brain has failed to evolve into something that is of worth or something that is capable of understanding abstract concepts such as faith...
even the most advanced races will need some form of faith and learning to accept concepts such as hope.. which, at the end of it all, shall remain..

Go to a hynotherapist and ask him to help you suspend your disbeliefperhaps ...or maybe have someone give you electro-convulsive therapy until you start saying you love Jesus...I don't know...why not accept you are an atheist and have a happy life.
