Some one died in your family how do you get over it

You don't, really. It just fades. You realize that they want you to be happy and live your life (especially since they can't anymore). You accept that life is fleeting and do your best to catch every second of it. You remember the good times, because you know they would never cry thinking of their life with you.

Basically you just accept and move on. There is a lot more to life, even if it doesn't feel like it right now. It will get easier. Love what you got to have with them and appreciate what you have with everyone else you love in your life.

The best way to get over it is to celebrate life. My friends and family don't want me to mourn over their death. They want me to celebrate their life and my own too! I don't want a funeral when I die. I want an all out party! Remember the good times, experiences, humor, etc. Why should death be such a downer when you've had the priviledge to share in the experiences of their lives. You and they are better off for getting to know one another. Their lives enrich yours and those experiences can be passed down to your children and their chidren's children. Just accept and celebrate the fact that you are who you are today because of them and their influences in your life. Good luck with this.

i am still trying to figure that out 4 yrs after the passing of my Dad. I guess i am afraid of letting go and getting on with the fact that he is never coming back and it sucks for me but maybe one day i will get it.

I am sorry if you lost someone. I lost my Dad back in '94. I think about him alot, but truthfully, the pain never goes away, it subsides. I take comfort in knowing that someday, we all will be together again!

Don't think about it. Do something to keep your mind off of it.
