Jesus and the Disciples accepted the Old Testament as God's word. They could only do this if they themselves believe that God was not benevolent. They also preached the goodness of God, despite his apparent evil. This is because they, like the writers of the Old Testament, do not care if god is 'good' or 'evil', they are merely slaves to fear.
The Book of Revelations is the climax and final book of the New Testament, where it is said that God will once again revert to his Old Testament ways... the suffering and pain described in the apocalypse is something that a good god could never let happen. To even believe that God do this is to believe in a monstrous demon of a God.

You wrote: "To even believe that God do this is to believe in a monstrous demon of a God." And this is the point that so many Christians don't get: Christianity in many respects *insults* 'God'. If I live to be 100 I'll never understand how mindlessly and enthusiastically Christians discredit 'God'.

The god in the bible is evil and cruel, not loving and kind.
First he (supposedly) created people. He created us as fallible, with very limited intellect and with very little faith in stuff we can't see for ourselves or understand. He designed us so that we question things and so we don't believe things easily unless they are not impossible to prove. He made us this way, yet still expects us to have blind faith in him.
According to the Bible, he has gotten angry and killed villages, cities, countries, and at one point the entire population of earth (the great flood story) because people acted the way they were designed (by god!) to act and therefore didn't believe in him.
It's no different than teaching your son to be the best possible jewel thief, and then killing thim when he steals jewels just like you taught him to do! It's not justice, it is cruel torture. It's not love, it's anger and hatred and disdain.
Yes the god described in the old testament was evil, cruel, vengeful and hateful, and the god described in the new testament, especially in revelations and the other parts that are supposedly prophetic is also evil, cruel, vengeful and hateful.

This really not much or a question but I will do my best to responded. You've stated your question under the assumption the God of the bible does exist so I will respond in that fashion.
You describe God as "Good" and "Evil" , if God created everything he created the concept of Good and Evil so how could he be Evil if he's the one who defines Evil, unless you are suggesting he chose to be Evil.
I assume your case for saying God as describe in the Old Testament is evil is based on the fact he killed people. It seems to me this is best explained in the words of Bill Cosby "I Brought you into this world and I can take you out of this world."
God, not our parents, is responsible for our existence so in-light of that doesn't he have the right to kill us if he created us?
Secondly if you really analyze the old Testament you'll see the story line really goes something like this.
1. God goes to a whole lot of work to create everything.
2. God puts man in charge.
3. Man Breaks the one rule God gave him.
4. God punishes man put spares him.
5. Man continues to do things that are horrific in his eyes of God and are against the set of Morals he gave us.
6. Man begins to ignore God
6.5 (forgot this one) God wipes out most of man, and starts over with noah's family.
7.God reaches out to a man named Abram
8. Abram ( now Abraham) doesn't have faith in God ( creates the Arabs through Ishmael)
9. God forgives him and still gives him a legit Son
10. Various ancestors of Abraham server God but all screw up in one way or the other.
11. God puts the Israel's Family in Egypt where although they will be in slavery they will be protected and grow into a mighty nation.
12. God frees them
13.God set rules for the Israelites
14. Israelites break them
15. God punishes them and then forgives them and sets new rules
16. Israelites break them
This pattern continues countless times until the new testament.
So unless you think a responsible parent is also evil I don't think the God of the Oldtestament was evil at all. He was a whole lot more loving a paitient then I would have been.

It reads as more of a statement than a question, there is nothing to answer to except your banter. Placing "GOD" on the good or bad side is like saying a Tornado or a Hurricane is evil. It is the natural event of all things that as surely as the sun shines it must dim. To base the concept of "GOD" solely on one or two texts is a narrow view. But belief and reality have never been known to coincide.

From where do you get this idea of God is evil? Have you read the bible or just heard it from someone? What is it that you consider "apparent evil" of God? What do you know about the book of revelation?

God is a fair god. He works in mysterious ways and if we cold think like God we wud understand his ways but we dont. All Gods doings are part of his plan which will all become clear to ur confused godless mind when he sees it fit.

Revelations also states that the people did not repent and continued to curse God.
They acknowledged Him but still refused to bend.
