It means that we're effectively wasting our time here?
If that's what you mean, I disagree. I have no problem with theists or theism - it's what you do with that belief that matters. If you use it to improve yourself, good. Really. If you use it to drag down other people, you are wrong and need to be educated.
Again, my blog explains my thoughts on this better than I can now.

Where did you get the idea that an Atheist doesn't choose to be an Atheist? God didn't intend for someone to NOT believe. All men have free will, and an Atheist apparently has exercised that free will.
Aside to Militant...I'll match my IQ, college degrees and intelligence with yours any time. Yes, I was raised in the Church, but going to church doesn't make you a Christian. Accepting Christ as my Savior did, and I followed His call.

Is it insinuating that Atheists don't think about becoming Godless there by alluding to the thought that Theists put forth more effort into their beliefs and in doing so have found truth?
I will concur with the militant though. Religion is a result of brainwashing. People don't grow up and pick a religion, they grow up and pick their parents religion.

Oh, well. So much for that consensus. Does it matter that I have NO idea where you were going with this question anyhow??????
EDIT: I went to your is atheism a choice question, and scrolled through those answers. Now, I have to wonder. Why did all these atheists back-pedal on you on this question? Does this mean anything? Or is it just me that sees something here?

Theists just believe that (a) god exists. This essentially means nothing because even the demon's believe and shudder. There is no real difference between athiests and theists except that athiests deny the obvious.

Of course Atheists choose atheism. It makes rational sense to them. Just as believing in God makes rational sense to the believer.

Are you on crack? You've got this totally backwards, man.
Atheists DO choose, after weighing evidence, and utilizing their skills of LOGIC AND REASON.
Theists don't use their brains, and believe what they have been told since birth. No choice involved.
EDIT: Ummm, YES. I do.
