I would be counting all material roof to frame, possible not the frame itself

Assuming the structure is 8 feet high and assuming each of the six sides is 4 inches thick, we are looking at 50 cubic yards.

Assuming 50 percent packing efficiency, estimate 100 cubic yards for an empty trailer.

(The walls are about 2-1/2 inches thick, the ceiling is nearly 3 inches, but the floor will be something like six inches. Will the steel in the frame be segregated? )

i like the first guys answer excep remember that 1/3 of your dumpster space is going to be empty because no everything will lay flat i would say a 50 yard would be conservative

actually, his math is messed up. he is only taking into account the floor. what about walls and ceiling, i would have to say 150 yards then.

Why not just haul the whole thing to a junk yard and let them demolish it?

assume you have 1ft of junk covering all of your mobile - that's quite a lot.

16ft * 80ft * 1ft = 1280 cu ft = 47.4 cu yds

That's quite a lot of stuff - you probably won't need nearly that much.
