I seem to recall that in California things are a lot less serious as long as the age difference between the two partners is less than three years (and maybe if the younger one is over some age like 14 or 16, I forget). I think that drops it from a felony to a misdemenor or an infraction, again I forget the details (since they don't apply to me, I'm way too old). Check the California State legal code, it's online: I suspect the phrases you need to search for are "statutory rape" "sex" "minor" and combinations of the above.
In practice, most places the cops are only going to do anything if someone's parents or some other adult whose business it is complains to them. So if both your parents are cool with it, I don't think you need to worry much.

It would be plenty legal in Missouri - our law is someone over 21 with someone under 17. Probably something similar in Cali.
