Sounds like it's just one up from Tequila. Mind you, if you come from Devon or Somerset you would know that the best cider was always the one where the rat fell through the bunghole and drowned. There was never very much left of the rat.

I think you are talking about the practice of a snake being killed, and the heart put into a glass of rice spirit, and offered to the main guest as an aphrodisiac (or a tonic)
The snake is then cooked and served to yourself and your guests
.
I have not tried this, as I have not yet visited a country where this is a normal part of the cuisine.
I only have difficulty with it if endangered species are used, and if the snakes are not killed in a humane manner.
Snakes are good meat, just as any other mammal, bird, fish or reptile, and loads and loads of inverebrates - Prawns - crabs -Oysters -Clams etc etc.
I like the question as it expands the understanding of other culinary cultures.

ha bu sake yeah i've taken a few shots before the alcohol content isn't that high but the snake poison starts to mess with your head
