Usually, there is joy right away, but changes come slowly. Most people don't change overnight. You'll probably feel different when you start acting different. For example, let's say someone has cussed all their life, and then one day they get saved. Upon reading the Bible, they learn that foul language should not come out of their mouth. So since they know it is wrong for a Christian to use curse words now, the process of changing begins. It's hard at first, especially if the person used curse words quite often. But if you pray and ask Jesus to help you stop cussing, then you'll usually feel guilty for saying bad words when they slip out. Some people have to think of new words to say instead of bad words. And so the change is usually a gradual process. But He promises to be with you from the moment you are saved, and He'll never leave you. So there really is an immediate difference in your life, you just don't feel it all at once. Good question!!

As for me, it was a change taken place over time. I didnt feel different right away, but I noticed a change from the moment I accepted Christ as my savior in a surrending way. From then on, it just keeps getting stronger and stronger. Follow the Lord and read the Bible and know him and have a personal relationship with him and you will keep growing like the seeds into many fruit. It is a growth with Christ every second, minutes, hour, day and you will notice when you feel hungry for more to know Jesus. Others will notice as well, but it is Jesus you want to notice. God Bless--

Yes, immediately. I went to church, there was an altar call and a promise that I would be a new creature in Christ. I went to the altar and felt a warmth through out my body. I closed my eyes, prayer whole heartedly and emotionally submitting completely to Christ. When I opened my eyes, everything looked more beautiful and the colours brighter. I felt freedom for the first time ever in my life.

some say that is an instant relief. For me, is was a gradual uplifting that I did not know exactly when it happened but now I stand here knowing that it happened. It's amazing. Nothing brings me down, nothing. And, I was a wrech before.

One thing I learned is that God is not a religion: God is a relationship that you create with the father of truth, good, light and love through Jesus Christ his son.

I knew that SOMETHING was different; but I didn't know what. In fact, I didn't even realize right away that I had been born again (saved). It was after sever weeks of reading the New Testament daily, and praying daily that I realized that what had happened to me several weeks earlier was what the Bible calls "the new birth."
The devil certainly will try to deceive you into thinking you have been deceiving yourself. One of his oldest tricks is to try to get new believers to doubt their salvation—to doubt that God has really forgiven them, and that they are now part of His family forever.

But don't listen to him! If you honestly opened your life to Christ as best you knew how, and you sincerely committed your life to Him, then your sins have been forgiven and God has made you His child forever. Jesus' promise is for you: "I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life" (John 6:47). The Bible also says, "Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12).

In other words, trust God's Word, and not your emotions! Emotions have their place; God gave them to us, and they can bring us great joy (as well as sorrow). But emotions come and go, and they are not a reliable gauge of our standing with God. The night I came to Christ in an evangelistic meeting I felt very little emotion. But down inside I knew something was different, and in time I learned to trust God's Word, and not my emotions.

Thank God for sending His Son into the world to die for you. Then make it your goal to grow closer to Him through prayer, the Bible and the fellowship of a church where Christ is preached.
A lot of people believe they are saved only if they have some powerful emotion or overwhelming feeling. However, every Christian has times when feelings are not strong, no matter what our experiences may have been in the past. But it is not our feelings that save us—it is Christ.

"How can we know we are really saved? Because God's Word tells us, and God cannot lie. If you have put your personal faith and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, the Bible says God has made you a member of His family. 'God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that has the Son has life ... These things I have written to you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life' (1 John 5:11-13). As someone once said, 'God said it—I believe it—that settles it!'

"Remember that God loves you. And if you begin to doubt, remember the promises He has made to you and the way He loves you. Learn to thank Him for that love. When we know Christ, nothing 'shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord' (Romans 8:39)."

I didn't particularly feel any different, but my friends who didn't know kept asking things like, "Why are you so happy?" and, "You seem different..." I did notice after a few days that I was much happier and actually JOYFUL and I was also feeling compassion on a lot of other people.

I didn't feel the change right away, It took a while for me to realize what I actually did, and that in my own way I let God take over, and to lead me to the right path!

I noticed the biggest changes when I changed my life to match His word. Then it was like the whole earth shifted. First it was uncomfortable...then it got easier. I lost some relationships....I gained much better ones later. In short, the more you dive in, the more you get out of it. He can go as fast as you can.
