Go to your bank and they will give you a "secured credit card". You give them $500, and they give you a Visa or Mastercard with a $500 limit. (This is stupid, but it really works). Use the card all the time, and pay it off early each time you get a bill for the next three months.

Voila! Instant good credit rating!

Use it wisely...

Good luck......

The best thing to do is get a gas card even if you dont drive, just use it every once an a wile and your credit should go up just alittle bit. Then go to a jewerly store and get some thing in credit and pay it off quick. By this time ur credit should be around 600 to 620 after this it shouldnt be to hard to get bigger things. But if you really want ur credit to sky rocket, when ur parents ort friends to let you co-sign for there next car or house loan. But with all this things there are consequences.

I think the last response was not quite OK because it advises on "opening as many accounts..." as you can which is wrong. All of this "as many" means that many hits on your credit bureau which will be bad for you. By far the best and simplest idea would be to "secure" your credit car with your bank or credit union and start from there. Indeed, put down/secure it with 500-1000 dollars and off you go to start using this card once received. Try to pay it off by the "due date" on your card bill and within 6 months people will be talking to you further...about offering more credit to you.

You should be able to get a credit card. Only use it if you know you are going to pay the balance right away to avoid trouble. This gives you credit then other doors will open up. That's all I started with before I got my car and that was all I needed to get it.

I had the same question before, but what I would advise you to do is go to a JCPenney store, Victoria's Secret, Hechts, or DressBarn, any clothing store that might accept you and buy something with the credit card and make your monthly payments on time. They might give you a small amount of credit, but you have to start down and work yourself up. try to open as many accounts as possible to see where they accept you and from there your credit will start building up.

I know its a catch 22 situation...but here's what you can do..start with a checking a/c and after, say, a period of over six months...apply for a credit card with ur bank...in case they offer and hopefully if u get it start using the CC, try to make full payments on-time, then if you can afford, buy something thru loan, say car, and pay ur loan on-time and gradually u'll build-up ur credit history.

In case the bank doesn't offer CC or declines one, go for Credit Unions..they also offer CCs and see if you can get one from them..

Hope this helps and good luck!

No, this happened to me once. They make special credit cards for this problem and department stores will even sometimes give you a chance.

Get a small loan from your bank, and that will help with your credit.
