I am known to be late to most everything. I hate this about myself, especially now that it's starting to affect my career. Any tips or advice from people who always show up to things 15 minutes early? Or is there anyone out there who is like me? I don't do it to be rude or out of disrespect, I simply cannot help it. It's almost like I try to do too much, and try to squeeze everything together to the point where some of them over lap. HELP! I'm going crazy.

I was like you. I can say two things that may help.

being late can mark you in a negative way and I have seen people lose their jobs over it. think about getting a great job and losing and making good money only to lose it because you didn't know how to be on time. It can be VERY embarrasing and set you back in your career.

I set a time that I would like for my appointment. I made sure that when I was going to an appointment I reserved at least 30 minutes over when I would normally leave. I don't like rushing so it worked out for me.

Get a PDA, set an Alarm. just make sure you understand the very dire consequences you will undergo if you keep up this behavior

I trust female. If I were an business enterprise i'd really keep the sturdy worker. i'm also not a morning human being, yet i have discovered that agenda adherence should be educated via proper monitoring and self belief from the manager. an option determination is to regulate his agenda to a later time. as an instance, if he's operating on an 8-5 agenda and habitually is geared up in at round 9, why not make his default artwork day commence at 9 rather?

Its a character fault, I believe. Lack of respect for other peoples time and schedule. I say this only because of personal experience. I was the very same way. People always had to wait for me! It may be egocentricity, vanity, trying to do too many things at once, etc. I suggest that you try to do fewer things of better quality than to try to too many things at mediocrity. Something done well, takes time and planning, usually. Being punctual is something that usually is controllable, if its habitual- it is by your choice of actions. With very few exceptions, I have not been late or "pulled a no show" for a long time. Its a matter of taking responsibility and consideration. There could be many other reasons, I can vouch for some of them, but not now and not here. I think it has to do with being self-centered for the great part.

It seems that you took the time to write your question.....

U know where the problem lies and U are the only one who can help yourself...

Since U know that U try to squeeze everything together, then get an organiser, write down all your appointments and always put a certain amount of time between them... If U always calculate the exact amount of time needed to get to a destination, add half an hour for traffic jams and any other things that might crop up. If it doesnt work, add more time. If it works, U can try reducing the time to suit urself.

Hope it helps!

Get dress early and then do other things around the house. Getting in the practice of getting dress early is one of the first good habits to develop. Then do less things around the house. After that depart for you appointment and have something to read as you wait for that time to arrive.

AHHHH...But isn't it more of a challenge to play the " beat the clock game".

I am late to work but no one else is here to report me! I am not late to my husbands family functions...that's different.

You run late because you feel that your time is more important than what ever other responsibility is out there.
