Atheists don't believe in any kind of supernatural divine being. They view Satan as being every bit as mythological and nonexistent as God.

(This response assumes a Christian view of what's "Satanic"; those who call themselves Satanists often have a very different concept of Satan.)

Satan believes in God...isn't that funny? In fact, Satan tried to tempt God. An atheist is one who believes that there is no God. See the link below for definition.

you overlook two points about Christians: 1) They see no need to read what's written or listen to what's said because they already think they know what you mean, and any attempt to disagree with them constitutes an attempt to steal there soul; 2) Since they believe they themselves have the same Divine Infallibility as the God they worship, any disagreement with them is an attack on God himself, and since they also know (remember they are Godlike in their knowledge and so cannot be wrong) that all attacks on God come from Satan, anyone who disagrees must be Satanic. Q.E.D. When I joined the Navy one of the men in my Boot Company was a practicing Satanist, he put that down for "religion" on his dog tag application, when he got it back it read "protestant". To quote Big Brother and Puck: Big Brother "Ignorance is strength" (Orwell-"1984"); Puck "Lud what fools these mortals be" (Shakespeare-"Midsummer Nights Dream").

No offense, my friend, but Anton LaVey's Church of Satan - by far the largest Satanist organisation in North America - does not require belief in a conscious entity known as Satan.

I know how wrong-headed these small-minded goons are (because they base their lies on anti-atheist slander in the Bible) and you're right for 95% of atheists (myself included) but don't push Satanists out of the atheist category - many belong there.

I'm quite in agreement with you. Atheists cannot be Satanic because he is the equivalent of an evil deity and since they do not believe in them, cannot be applied to them. Sort of like saying a child that would rather play video games than playing outside is a bad child.

The reason you got a defensive response from some is because many Christians see their faith slowly eroding in our society, ie, "One nation under God," in the Pledge of Allegiance, for example. If I were an Atheist, I would keep it to myself and not try so hard to proselytize. I mean, what's the point, right?

Study Blaise Pascal, the philosopher/theologian. He pretty much says it all.

Correction: An atheist cannot be a "satanist", but they can be "satanic". One is a mindset, the other is a condition.

If I say, "I do not believe in water", will I still get wet if someone throws it on me?

Perception vs. Condition

Hope that helps you.

Since when has anyone on here ever bothered reading through the whole question? What do you think you are speaking to highly intelligent people?

PS HAIL SATAN! From a fellow atheist.

HA

Atheist as you don't believe in a diety then you probably assume that those who do are nuts or deluded. One thing my old man taught me was never argue with a man who is the middle of a delusion. So why do you waste your time doing exactly that

Does it matter? It's not like they would have peacefully accepted anything you said anyway, even if they had read your question correctly.

Both sides need to give up and find something more productive to do with their time other than constantly trying to attack each other for the way they believe.

I did read this and I disagree with you... I'm a staunch Athiest but I believe in evil because I've SEEN evil in the world while I've never seen God. But if you expect people to actually READ before posting, you're wasting your time because that pre-supposes they can read and since most of them can't write or spell, it's doubtful they can read either.
