I'm a bridesmaid for an upcoming wedding. If I paid for my dress, paid to go on the bacheloretter party cruise, paid for the bridal shower cake, and have to pay to stay in the hotel with the wedding party, do I still have to buy the bride a gift?

Yes...it stinks...I know I've been there, but its the polite thing to do. Of course you don't have to, but its nice. She will generally buy something for her bridesmaids so you should make sure to get them something small too. For the shower you might get something small from the registry, and then maybe something sweet for the ceremony that is inexpensive like a framed picture of the couple...or a scrapbook....I dunno...but the decision is ultimately yours, I'm sure she wouldn't be offended either way.

While you have already done a huge amount for the wedding, you should get a small token gift. It doesn't have to be expensive. You could go to a craft store and get a nice album (the kind you can write in) and put pictures, quotes, and stories from your friendship, her engagement and all the bridal activities. You can also have the other bridesmaids add to it and put in their favorite stories, memories, etc.

It won't be expensive, and it will be something she can keep and admire forever. Good luck; the bride has a very good friend in you.

Of course you don't HAVE to. The etiquette police will not arrest you. However, it is the correct thing to do. If spending the money on all the above things was going to be in lieu of a gift, then you should not have accepted to be in the wedding. I would get them a nice bottle of champagne - I'll link to some engraved ones that start at around $40-$50.

At my wedding the bridesmaid bought me a gift for the shower and paid for the shower (cake, food, drinks, rental of hall) at the wedding it self no I didn't expect anything and they didn't gove me anything They had done enough already being there for me. So it's realy up to you and your friendship with the bride.

No, you have paid enough. Just having you in her wedding is a gift for her and an expense for you.

Get her a picture frame from a garage sale.

Yeah, isn't that a crock. Still, you can get her something little and meaningful. The gesture is what matters. (Got anything around the house you want to get rid of?)

that is usually the nice thing to do but I would think it is up to you and how you feel about this and seems like you have done alot already,
maybe give her a gift card or something.

It is EXPECTED of you. If your financial situation is not real good, find something nice, but cheap.
