I want to be baptized but I'm 19 years old and I don't know how. My parents, who have both been baptized, think I'm crazy. I don't know what religion I am or anything as we have not been church goers my whole life but since my Grandma has died I feel the need to be more in touch with God. Help me.

Hi, you have some very good question, this is how you become saved. Ask Jesus to forgive you of all of your sins and ask him to come into your heart and save you and you shall be saved. You will be a christian meanig that you believe that Jesus the Son of God came down from heaven to save us of our sins. You should find a church home rather or not your parents are going . Being baptized doesnt save you, it is an outward expression of an inward change, once you have ask jesus to save you he comes and lives in your heart, now instead of hell your going to heaven please email me so that i can give you more info please be sure to email me today or when ever you have some time. be blessed

How To Get Baptized

2016-10-02 21:48:34 · answer #2 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

Hey, here is my advice...

Don't rush into this. Getting baptized is a public confession of your faith in Jesus Christ. Since you do not know what religion you are, do some research. Read the gospels (John, for starters) and pray. If you believe that Jesus is the Messiah and can wash away your sins, just pray to Him and invite Him into your heart and He will make you into a "new creation". Talk to a local pastor (I suggest finding a Calvary Chapel near you, they are a very Biblically based organization of non-denominational Christian churches). After you accept Christ, anyone may Baptize you, but it should be a fellow believer by full immersion in water, and into the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I was baptized in the Atlantic Ocean surrounded by a group of friends, it was wonderful.

Please, if you have any questions or need help, don't hesitate to message me!

Much love.

Meghan,
Start attending a good Church. One that teaches the true word of God. Try a baptist one. They read straight from the bible and dont twist it the way other churchs do. Then my next question is.. have you accepted Jesus as your savior, If you havent'. You need to before you get baptized. When the church pastor at the end of the service gives the invitation, go up to the preacher and tell him you want to accept Jesus as your savior. Once you do that, they you can talk to him about being baptized and he will do that for you as well.

Feel free to write me anytime at carolbmartin1958@yahoo.com
I would like to know how you are doing.
God bless you

How To Be Baptized

2016-12-14 17:31:23 · answer #5 · answered by mcnear 4 · 0 0

Armaan, your story is so beautiful that I could not help but to cry. I believe God has drawn me to Christianity and my life feels fulfilled for once. Before I knew God I indulged in terrible things and I regret it all. I always felt like something was missing. Now God has given me faith, love and happiness. Though I am not perfect, I can trust in Jesus and His sacrifice. I am looking to get baptized also. I suggest that you read the bible and pray to the Father and thank Him for Jesus everyday. To get baptized I am going to find a church and ask around until I find one that I know is right. Thank you for sharing. I hope things go well for you and that your faith in Jesus will grow so that one day when all things pass away we may join in the presence of the holy one forever. I trust that this is the right path.

Go to your nearest apostolic church, I am sure they will be gladly to answer all your questions.
I dont know why your parents think you are crazy. They should be glad that you want to better yourself. But before baptizing you should have a few talks with the pastor of the church that you find, believe me it would shed some light on stuff you want know and stuff you already know.
Take care and wish you the best
God bless

If you don't know what religion you are, then you shouldn't get baptized. I understand your feelings about getting closer with God. But you can do that by soul-searching to find your religion. Then after you KNOW you've found it, THEN you get baptized. The best place to start is the beginning, and baptizm isn't the beginning. Good luck on your journey and Blessed Be.

You'd be best off getting in touch with a baptist church within your area that you feel comfortable in. Speak with the pastor about baptism, the requirements, the process, what is expected of you. . . The pastor will help you decide on whether you are making a good decision, and if it is not time for you to be baptised, he will help you with developing a better relationship with God as well. Don't let your parents stop you from doing what you think is right.

You are not crazy. You can be baptized at any age, but the sooner the better. Talk to a pastor and get your questions answered first. When you pray, tell God you are separated from him by sin. Ask him to forgive your sins and tell him you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior . Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in your daily walk with God. Read the bible everyday. God Bless you!
