Thumbs down

I would say, thumbs down in all but exceptional situations. Talking to him about it and letting him know what your relationship goals are - yes. But if after a period of time and repeated conversations about it things don't seem to move forward - he probably just doesn't want to marry you *that* bad. In a rare situation, he simply may not possess the social skills or relationship experience to get the timing right, and then it would be ok to simply ask him directly - "will you marry me?" But, I think, this situation may not be very common, much of the time he probably just doesn't quite want to "take the plunge".

Oh that's a toughy. I know I would prefer the traditional way of the guy asking, but that is just me. Almost everything else I would be cool with the lady being on even ground. Perhaps you could ask him this way..."If I were to change it up a bit, and propose to you, would you marry me? If he says yes, then pop out his ring and ask away!

Besides the original question, you have to ask yourself, what if he says no? Just a little something to think about.

I'm very traditional were this is concerned so I would naturally go for my guy asking me to marry him, but if this is what you feel you want to do then by all means go for it. Sometimes a guy might feel pressured if the woman wants to get married and he hasn't asked her. Most of the time when a guy is ready he will ask you on his own time, and sometimes this can be a good thing because he will actually be ready for this without feeling pressured.

I think that you should wait and let the guy ask you. Give him some hints about you wanting to get married and wait for him to ask. If a guy doesnt ask you that usually means that he is not ready. There is nothing wrong with asking a guy to marry you but I think that you should just wait and let him do the asking no matter how excited you are!

Thumbs down! Men know that there is an expectation for them to ask, so if the guy hasn't then he probably isn't ready.

Up
Times are changing, I feel it would be ok for a gal to ask... But still up to the guy to go down on one knee to place before placing a lovely ring upon her finger...

What can I say I'm a romantic married 25 years now :)

I don't think any girl should ask a guy to marry them, because you may be setting yourself up for a let down. Besides that, guys ask when they feel that they are really ready for marriage, not when the female is.
