Why are you preaching from a source you don't believe? The War on Terror is simply an excuse to expand executive power, and the value of oil. Muslim does not have to equal terrorist. It's not the religion that we are opposed to, it's the lunatics who keep blowing things up. It's alright to kill them, as long as you don't hold a grudge.

The simple answer is that the war on terror started as a justifiable retaliation for an act of terrorism. Since then, it has grown into something far greater, a general belief among the American people and the politicians acting on their behalf that the entire middle east needs to be broken down and redesigned. This is not entirely inaccurate, as their systems of running things seem to make an incredably unsafe environment for the inhabitants of the area and the people in the world at large.
The war on terror is mostly an attempt to remake the countries in the middle east so that they are no longer able to produce radical muslims. The main problem with this approach is that most Americans don't understand the difference between a radical muslim and a normal muslim, so the average American has simply developed a hatered of all muslims.
Now, naturally, and good Christian would be fully able to forgive any attack on him and would be able to go on with his daily life despite anything that a terrorist may do, but that approach goes against human nature. It is difficult for any human to fight the natural desire for revenge, and the desire to go far beyond the actions that simple revenge would dictate.
Let's face it, people arn't ready to forgive eachother for anything. If somebody steals another person's backpack, for instance, the average person is far more likely to run and tackle the thief in an attempt to cause extreme bodily harm, than to simply re-take the backpack. People have a natural desire to not only take an eye for an eye, but to take an eye, an ear, and a few teeth for an eye.
That, of course, is precisely the reason why Jesus' teachings are so useful, in that they teach us not to follow our natural desire to go extremely overboard on our reactions, but the teachings are very difficult to follow.

Forgiving individuals who sin against you is not the same as never going to war against an evil power.
It is not my purpose to defend the "War on Terror" or any political decisions related to it. But in general, warfare can be justified by the cause of justice and with regard to those suffering under oppression. If someone terrorizes a large group of innocent people, it can be justified to remove this person, if necessary by force. Nevertheless, when we capture the person we can still forgive him. Forgiving someone's wickedness and trespasses is not the same as condoning them.

The last time I heard the Muslims were still doing as the bible says. They will lay their hands on you.
Christians don't like for nonChristian's to attempt to revert them to Islam. We know about your false idea of reversion, bud. You say everybody is born a Muslim. That's a religious lie. Nobody is born anything but human. Got it? So the reversion b.s. only works in your world. Your duplicitous ways are being found out.
That's the difference between a Christian and a Muslim. A Christian will just preach at you to become a Christian. A Muslim will attempt to make you get on your knees and face East. If the person doesn't, you lop their head off. If a Muslim tries to lay his hand on me--he/she will become history.
Why don't you Muslims tell us about the concept of oneness idea? That's a strange way of saying one Islamic world. If you didn't try to make the whole world Islamic, people wouldn't be defending against your psuedo-peace.
The war on terror is justified by religious nut jobs crashing planes into buildings. I heard a net nomad was converted to a nut nomad. I think all nomads are the same myself. I just love a '55 Chevy.
The real war is coming.

Forgiving someone does not mean that you don't defend yourself against those who turn themselves into walking bombs.
BTW, what does being Muslim have to do with your question? It is a war on terrorism, not on Islam. It is a shame that some radicals have hijacked one of the world's great religions. Those followers of true Islam should be pissed that their religion is being twisted in such a way.

Most people want God to forgive their trespasses and forget about the whole as we forgive those part of it...
That's true for war and everyday life...people are selfish and self centered

if someone came busting into your home uninvited, started wrecking it, kicked the dog, and then kidnapped a family member and fled, what would you do?
we all have the right to defend ourselves and our property. Sure we can forgive them (and that piece of scripture applies to anybody of any faith) but I'd work on getting my family back first, putting up a new stronger door with an alarm system, and being proactive in making sure it didn't happen again. Wouldn't you?

Yeah, it is. Isn't it terrible that we can fight a war in the name of God and in doing so go against what God teaches. G. Bush wanted to finish what his daddy started. Some say that he created and blamed 911 on the Muslims, told everyone to hate them, and then started a war. It's funny how they had never attacked us until he was elected. Doesn't that sound suspicious to you?

Forgiveness can be there even when 'trust' obviously isn't.
We can forgive them through the humane understanding of their positions in inherited generational war zones, but we can't trust the stupidity that allows them to kill, annihilate, and destroy others, and even themselves ~ by simply forgiving them.

Please don't let the line between the leading of God's Spirit and political interests get blurred. Just because they say they are Christian does not mean that those directives are coming from God. Personally, my only interest in our troops being in the Middle East is to keep Hittler Jr. (the president of Iran) from fulfilling his PROMISES of genocide for Israel. I don't want to see World War III in my lifetime.
