i have a camera that has a screen that is the view finder and can be moved to film the filmer people in front and the sky and floor.
Maybe investing in a new video camera is the best think i got mine at currys. Not a camera wizz though.

you can buy a small clip on camera that connects to your camcorder . This you can clip anywhere and film away. regarding filming yourself has the camcorder got a timer ? alternativeley ask someone but beware they dont steal the camera !

i would go for the helmet style camera mount.
Or duct tape it to the helmet...
I would be careful with tape or har ddrive based camcorders, the vibration will kill the transport in no time. try to have either a camera and small video transmitter and have the recorder on the ground connected to a video receiver or use a flash memory based video camera.

There is a camera device which attaches to a cycle helmet, available in most of the online gadget stores (like The Gadget Store!) Do a search and see what comes up

I think if you go to a camera/camcorder accessory shop you might be able to get some kind of clamp or mounting bracket which the camcorder fits onto.
