no. there were two thieves. one on his right, and one on his left, Him (Jesus) being in the middle. One (i can't remember which side) mocked Jesus saying that if He were really the Son of God, then He should take Himself off of the cross. On the other side, the other thief asked Jesus for forgiveness of his sins. This thief was the one who went to heaven. The mocking thief, if I believe right, had his eyes poked out by a crow. or was it a raven?...... so, no, there were two separate thieves. ~

Nooooo. You must of had an interruption when you were reading this. It specifically stated two men hung on crosses beside Him. One mocked Him, the other rebuked the mocker and asked Jesus to remember him when He entered into His kingdom. Then Jesus rewarded that kind of faith, even hanging on a cross.
lol! I just read the other answers! Don't think you'll make that mistake again! Hope your little one is still doing better. I remember the picture you showed us of him...so sweet. It must be so hard on your heart. I hold you both in my prayers.

No, not that day.....Yes, he mocked, repented, and Jesus said: 'Truly I tell you..today..you will be with me in Paradise.'
So, where is the comma, before or after today? Is had to be after today, as Jesus was in the grave or hell for 3 days and 3 nights, so it was not that day.
Matthew 27:44 In the same way even the robbers that were impaled together with him began reproaching him.

You are wrong Jim. You are only allowed so many mistakes in life and you are making another. You see below that one of the men was humble and asked to be remembered and the humble one was the one that went to heaven. Well Jim too many mistakes and too little time left..
Luk 23:39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
Luk 23:40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
Luk 23:41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
Luk 23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
Luk 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

No......there were two thieves and one mocked and the other acknowledged Him as God....this is the one that was rewarded.
Luke chapter 23
39One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!"
40But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence? 41We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong."
42Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom."
43Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."
