If he thought it was good (Genesis 1:4), why didn't he invent it sooner?

God doesn't need the light of our sun. We do.

I ate marshmallows this morning. I thought they were good. Why didn't I eat them sooner?

He is outside of time and space. He is perfect in everything. God didn't tell, so we don't know. The cool thing is....go read Genesis again. God created the LIGHT before the SUN!!! How amazing and perfect he is!

If you recall the sun and the moon provided light. The only thing they really had was fire for light if they really needed it. But electricity wasn't invented until hundreds of years later!

God is Light.
(The Christian God is Light)

He was never sitting around in darkness :)

GOD IS LIGHT...!!!

The only darkness you'll find is when you die in your coffin,under the dirt and there isn't any light because of your sins!

Before God created anything, outer space as we know it was in darkness, NOT where God is. Wherever He is shines radiantly.
