I received a testimony that indicated by taking 2 Nutriferon (boosts the body's natural interferon) and 2 Liver DTX Complex (wll detox and support liver regeneration) daily reduced a gentleman's liver enzymes significantly - dropped from 800 to 34 over a period of time. These are Shaklee natural products with no negative side effects.

Best Wishes

Pegylated interferon with ribavirin is the standard right now. Genotype 1 have about a 50-57% chance (depending on which drug company product you use) of clearing the virus and genotype 2&3's have about an 80% chance. I've been a sustained responder (undetectable) for 6 years. Get educated on the disease, join a support group, drink lots of water, and keep a positive attitude. Know that the treatment is temporary, and with support, you can get through it. Life is good.BEst wishes.

Hep C isn't commonly spread through sex, unless a woman with hep C has sex with a man that doesn't while she's on her period, basically. http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/diseases/hepatitis/c/faq.htm
You have to come in contact with infected blood. It's hep B that's sexually transmitted the majority of the time. What is wrong with you people giving bad information? Do you get some kind of kick out of it? Or are you just an ignorant restupidican? Hep C is most common among drug users, though I'm NOT calling the lady asking a drug addict, because there's alot of ways to contract it.

For information on treatment of hep C.

Good luck.

These treatments (Interferon) are not always successfull. Depending on your genotype. It is also akin to chemotherapy. It is a hard road to "cure" hepc. Some svr after 12 weeks some it takes 48 weeks some never. Try it if it is 100% necessary. Otherwise take milk thistle, non iron multi vitamins, no red meat, no alcohol, ect.
Work closely w/ your Dr. He/she will guide you in the right direction.

The pegylated interferon and ribavirin combination is what seems to be the treatment du jour for most folks. make sure you really needs treatment before you go forward ... you should be working with a gastroenterologist.
